Golf
Very well kept fairways were in good condition greens and great condition but they are the smallest greens I've ever played on makes it a little interesting we'll be playing there again the bar afterwards had great hot dogs and made fantastic drinks makes a fun coming out staff is fantastic
Same old course
There's nothing exciting about the course, since last month all courses have raised their prices and none are worth the money being collected, Sandpiper is no exception to the rule. The only plus to the course is that a majority of the greens are rolling nice, other than that, it is definitely not advisable to go and play there. I do enjoy the lakes 9, it has a wee bit of character.
Solid 4 star course
Pace of play was great. Our group of 4 finished 18 in 3 hours 30 minutes. Overall course conditions were good. Very reasonable price for the high season.
Bad weather/Good course
So, 12 of us were going to play. 6 cancelled due to fear of bad weather,"Meow". Strong front rolled through at 6am. The course we originally were going to play closed. Sandpiper was nearby so we went there. They fit us in since almost nobody else was at the course. We went out at 9am under misty windy conditions. Had a great time. Weather cleared up as we played. Greens and fairways were in terrific shape. The bunkers were mostly clear of water, but the sand was hard packed by the rain. Saw only one other group on the course. We finished in 3 hours. I broke a hundred, which is great for me. I normally play like Janet Reno on Red Bull. Over all we had a great time on a terrific course with outstanding staff. Will play again.
The cures is in very good condition.
We played the Palms and the Lakes, and both are in very nice condition. The course was crowded but the pace of play was good. The Lakes nine is very scenic.
Nice upkeep
First time I’ve been on the course since The Lakes was re opened. They done a nice job on the fairways and greens. A couple of greens a a dead spot, but you could tell they are working on them
Straight holes, small greens
Wanted to get out and try this course before a possible shutdown next spring. Worth a look.
The fairways, greens, tees and traps were in fairly good condition with a few weak spots here and there. Ok practice area. No GPS on carts. Almost all of the holes were straight in front of you. You can aim for the flag from the tees. Greens were quite small, like the size of a tee area. Once you got on them the putting was not hard. Senior tees were short.
A quiet and low danger experience. I had a good day.
Greens are pretty good
The course has potential, but too many bare spots to call it great. The course is overall good.
Course review
Overall the course was not in terrible shape. I have played worse here in Florida for mor money. Greens were not bad but not great. A little slow. Fairways were probably the best part of the course. The rough was not good at all. More weeds than anything. The tee boxes had mostly good grass but needed mowed. Overall the upkeep of the course was not good. For the money it was ok but I would play their sister course which is in much better shape.
Marshalls
The course was fun but it seemed there was no one to manage the pace of play. We had a foursome playing a scramble behind us so they were going really fast so we let them play through. But there was a lot of people looking for balls that would get right in your way when you were playing a hole. There needs to be marshals managing people looking for balls and get in the way of other players. It is dangerous for all. The course was hard and there’s a lot of sand traps but I’m not the best golfer either.
Play it. You’ll want to play it again.
Great place especially for the older. It’s not a 5 star course but it’s very nice for the price. Greens always in good shape and staff very professional and easy going. I’ve been going there for the past 6 years and after I retire I’m sure I’m be there at least 3 or 4 times a month.
