Must Play If you are in the area
With SIX sets of Tees (Red, Black, Gold, Blue, White & Green) any golfer can have a memorable round! And with GPS hole view in every cart, you have no excuses for selecting the wrong club. If you are going to be in the Winona Lake/Warsaw Indiana area, be sure to bring your clubs and play Stonehenge.
Great course, a must play
Golf course under new owners/management is spot on. It's obvious they put in some much needed $$. The golf carts are the best I've been in with comfy seats, GPS, USB chargers and built in Bluetooth speakers. Staff is friendly and course is in great shape. Can't wait to go back.
Thick Rough
Stonehenge was an interesting links-style course that winds through a neighborhood, and turns into the woods for a couple holes on the back. Recent rains must've kept them from mowing the rough, as it was ankle deep just inches off the fairway throughout, which led to a lot of time ball hunting - it was the thickest rough I've played all year.
The layout was fun and interesting, with some moderately-sloped greens and a neat island green hole on the front. For October it was in pretty solid shape for the late season. They aerated the greens about 2 weeks a go so they still were a little bumpy but nothing major. Clubhouse looks very nice along the 18th hole. The course was surprisingly dead for late-morning on a Tuesday.
If you find yourself in the area or in/near Fort Wayne it's worth a go. It lives up to its reputation.
Hints of Florida and Myrtle Beach in North Central Indiana
I was fortunate to find this course during a short business trip to Warsaw, Indiana.. I did read a few reviews but did not really know what to expect.
What I found reminded me somewhat of courses I have played in Florida and Myrtle beach. The next day, I head to Golf Advisor to learn that the Architect of Stonehenge is Ron Garl who in fact designed and built over 100 courses in Florida. Well, minus the Bermuda Grass, Mossy Oaks, and Palm Trees, you can certainly feel it here in the gentle fairway bends, that disappear into water that comes into play again and again; massive sprawling sand and grass bunkers. Now add moguls, and reedy grasses at the edges.and the occasional, thicker forested backdrops and it really does feel at times like Florida or somewhere in the Carolinas.
I learned the hard way that course knowledge is a must. On the Par 5 # 6... there's a creek about 30 yards short of the green.. you can't see it but it's there and that's where I lost ball one on my second shot. Layup highly recommended! On #9 approach, favor the left side of the green or risk entering one of two deep bunkers in front.
On #12 the fairway becomes essentially an isthmus with water both left and right. You can't see the water on the left but that's where I lost ball 2.
#14 is a hard dog right. I tried to cut the corner and paid the price. There is not good way to get to the green from the right rough which—to the right of the green— is unbelievable. Lost my third ball in it and took my worst score of the day. Next time, I'll bag the driver to find center fairway and a clean and reasonable approach shot.
On #15 it looks straightforward enough but the fairway gives way to water on the right. I did not know this and there goes ball number 4!
All of these problems I encountered were avoidable with a little course knowledge. What could have been a mid to low 80s round became a low 90s. Did not matter. It was a great course to play and a joy to learn the hard way.
Around the course in general the fairway is a must. The rough can be reasonable or as serious as you've ever seen. Lose your ball in the open type of thickness.
At the end of the day, Stonehenge has all I care about in a golf course; Good Tee Boxes, Great Fairways, and Excellent Greens. Consistent and very playable bunkers. The greens were near perfect for this time of year. I mean stunningly well cared for. I typically will repair two or three ball marks when on the green (more if I have time) and I actually had trouble finding any to repair other than my own. I also noted that the par 3 tee box divots were nicely sanded and the carts carry TWO sand/seed mix bottles This tells me that the course staff AND the people that play this course really care. They should. It's a gem!
I do hope Stonehenge is receiving the support that it needs. It's very surprising to see a course of this caliber not filled with people all days of the week. Our threesome saw just a handful of other players around and we literally did not encounter a single golfer from in front or behind anywhere on the course. I've seen top notch layouts and facilities fail due to lackluster support from the golf community and in this case it would be a terrible shame.
Let me not forget the staff at Stonehenge. All incredibly kind and helpful in every way you could ask. From this threesome you get 6 thumbs up! Well done, and we look forward to playing again some day!
Just as Expected
Have played this course 4 times in the past year. Every time I walk away wondering why there is not a full parking lot. At Stonehenge you get a very nice course layout, excellent greens and a nice pace of play. This latest round came on the heels of some big downpours but the course seems to drain very well and our foursome had a great time.
Stonehenge
Fairways and first cut of rough hadn’t been mowed in a week. Second cut just as bad. Greens just ok.
Love this course.
Great course for ladies Played my best round on this course. Will play anytime I can.
One of the best courses in northern Indiana
First time playing Stonehenge in 12 years. The impressive clubhouse is showing some age, but the course itself is still remarkable. I really don’t understand why every tee time isn’t booked each day! Wonderful layout and routing. If you get the opportunity, play it. Stonehenge remains one of the gems in a 75 mile radius.
Great course
I love this course! It's a links course, but with trees. Don't miss the fairway or you will pay for it. It's been very wet in the area and they have been working hard to keep the course dry, but there is some damage from it. All in all it is a fantastic course.
Rough needs mowed more often
First cut of rough look like it had not been mowed for two weeks, then when they did cut it the left over grass was everywhere. First cut around greens hadn’t been mowed for a week probably. Other than that greens and fairways in great condition. Just cut the rough little more often than letting it go for two weeks
Great course to play
Stonehenge is a wonderful course on the east side of Winona Lake/Warsaw. With five tee boxes to choose from all skill levels will enjoy their round of golf. The course was in great condition and the pace of play for our twosome was approx. 3 hours for 18 holes. A real treat to have this course in Northern Indiana.
New course
Very nice course for the price. Beautiful setting. Greens were super smooth. Enjoyed it quite a bit.
Great option.
Great layout. Nice greens in very good shape. No complaints. The only thing I would mention to the course is why are there no ropes or signed to direct carts away from the greens. A few areas immediately around the green had muddy cart tracks. A simple rope or even. Sign like all other nice courses would make sure areas around the green are also in good shape.

Great condition!
Course was in fabulous condition- tees, fairways, bunkers and greens---everything!! Greens were fast and true. If you are in the area you should make sure you get there.
Great day on the course
The course was in great shape. Staff was very friendly and there were very few other golfers. It was a great day.
Very nice!
Definitely worth the hour drive! We loved the course. Very female friendly with advanced tee boxes and reachable greens.
Larry Uses Golf Now App
I enjoyed the experience of using the GolfNow App . Stonehenge GC was excellent and well drained after a number of days of rain.
Course was well maintained! Great value and fun.
Great staff and course
Staff is great course is difficult so chose tee boxes that you can have fun at. They have a bar so if golf isn't going great still have a great round.
Windy Stonehenge
My first time to visit this course, but it will not be my last. The windy day made it even more of a challenge, but the course is well worth the visit! Kept in great condition, with several challenges...it will test your abilities.
It appears the course was purchased and reopened!
Sadly just found out the course has closed and will not reopen.
