Diplomat Resort Country Club

The course in the past was always one of my favorites. The last few times have been very disappointing, especially this time.
Poor greens, fairways, rough, plenty of spots without any grass at all, even the practice range was in the poorest conditions I've ever seen.
No warnings of the conditions prior to booking, once we got to the first tee they mentioned they were improving the course, unacceptable. Lesson learned, it will be the last time I play this course. Don't waste your time and money, not what it used to be.

Even for the low price the course was not playable.
The fairways where seriously damage.
The green where sanded . The management should advised the players and golf now also.

I played that amazing course a lot of time and yesterday it was the first Time the guys who take care of ours club after the game (I took the valet parking) for a little washing and bringing to m'y car at the valet entrance... he did not moove from his golf cart and let us cleaning ours club a we need to bringing up to the valet by ourself.

I always had a great service at this golf course so maybe it' s juste à Bad day for this guys! I will see next game?

I play weekly in south FL and got a hot deal here so gave it a try. The course was maybe a notch above average. The starter and proshop staff were pleasant, I certainly would not say they were warm and friendly. I will say that the ranger was very friendly, he was doing his best to keep people moving but also spacing people out on the course. I always feel you can judge a course by tee boxes and greens. The tee boxes were average to below average, angled and wobbly, you struggle to find flat area and a decent spot on part 3's. The greens were good, rolling consistently but plenty of ball marks all over. I feel they capitalize on thier name and provide at best an average experience. There are plenty of other courses I would play before this, better values and better conditions.

Very nice drive up and club house. Self parked after dropping off my bag. cart was ready and nicely stocked with ice and water. Rainy day so no issues with waiting. Greens aerated. Overall very good experience and one of the nicest public courses/facilities you can get on in Broward area. Would play again if the rate is right.

Always enjoy playing golf at the Diplomat! Beautiful place, challenging and fun, good condition. Greens had been cut and aerated recently so putting was not ideal on the day we played. Huge practice area. Very friendly staff.

I love and hate this course. Love it because it is well maintained, beautiful to look at and some of the holes make you shake on the tee box, greens very quick but fair. Hate it because simple shots end up in the water and it gets in your head. I am a solid low 80's player on most courses in Miami but walk out into this and hope to break 100. Blue monster and crandon the only other courses in Miami I play that I feel the same way about. Strange that at $80 for a early weekend tee time this course isn't booked out, always able to get in it and I am happy about that..service good, course ranger full of good advice and tolerance when you try to take his advice and fail. Playing again tomorrow and I am going to own this course...

My wife and I played golf at the Diplomat GC last week and we found the course in fair condition. Generally, we enjoyed the golf course layout and beautiful scenery. However, the parking, unloading/loading of golf bags and transfer of the bags to the cart was inconvenient at best. The front entrance and bag drop off area is very congested and the valet attendants (self-parking is discouraged) seemed a bit overwhelmed. We played the course last year and the process was much easier.... just pulled the car up, handed the keys to the valet attendant and walked in the front door. Upon our arrival this time the attendant directed us to move the car from the entrance way to another temporary parking space; then they would get the bags and move the car to the valet parking lot. So much for valet service. So frustrated with all this mess we decided to self-park our car in the lower lot. Following our check-in, we found our bags just sitting on the pavement near the starting location and had to load our own bags on the cart. Staff in the Clubhouse and out on the course were friendly and helpful. Too bad the parking experience was unsatisfactory.

Greens are fast and fair..great shape. One of the best in Broward county. Service at the restaurant needs some work.

I am harder on this course than most because of the category it puts itself in by being a resort course and a troon course. I feel like the course is in a I just don't care mode. If it were a public or city course the conditions are good and I would probably give it four stars. If they can fix the fairways, t-boxes and greens then I would love playing this course.
The t boxes were not level and had brown spots everywhere from trying to kill weed growth. I am glad they did this but why did it get this bad to begin with? There are parts of the fairway where the rough looks nicer. The greens were better than the rest but that was a low bar.
However, the course is beautiful! Which makes it harder to take when the conditions don't match up.
The food is great and the staff was friendly. I felt sorry for the group in front of us as they had to wait literally on every shot. The foursome in front of them had two empty holes. We had to wait also but it wasn't as bad. I don't mind waiting because I enjoy being on the course but this round was a little too long.
If you get a great deal on this course you may like it. If your use to playing public you may like it also. However if you are expecting a private course or resort course it may be disappointing. If I was expecting a public course I would have probably been delighted.

I have played this course dozens of times.

It is consistently in great shape with greens that are cut very well and roll very true.

The course is always in great condition year round while many courses deteriorate in the hot summer months.

The staff is always very attentive and on top of anything you may need with advice on course pace of play before you go tee off(There's a ladies league ahead of you....).

Great course layout but I have often played there whith better course conditions, specially for the fairways.

The pace of play was very slow which contradicts some comments on this site but it was not the main issue about golf etiquette. There was a group of drunk and noisy people playing. There where screaming in their golf car and on the course.

One of the employees told us that they are members and that the restaurant is pleased to sell them alcohol.

In serious golf clubs, this king of behavior is prohibited and prosecuted. Here, it is permitted...

I'm a single digit handicapper, I travel a lot and I have never seen such an attitude anywhere on a golf course.

For a quiet golf moment, forget the Diplomat!

My first time to this course and south Florida. Arrived about a half hour early and there was a threesome going out of which they asked if I wanted to go right away. Had a good time with these gentlemen. The pace of play was awesome. We zipped around. I really like the layout and the course was in great shape. I will be back to the area and would definitely play here again!!!
