One of the nicer courses in OC
Enjoyed the later afternoon round here on a Friday. The pace of play on the back 9 slowed down significantly. The course let a solo out, then a twosome in front of us then we were a twosome, then another twosome behind us.
The tee boxes and fairways were in good condition but the greens were ok. All in all it was nice to play a nicer course in OC.
Where Humanity Goes To Die (Along with your money)
Overpriced, underwhelming, and run by people who treat customer service like a bunker shot—awkward and indifferent. My friend got sick and couldn’t play, and instead of offering a credit, they charged me anyway like heartless leeches. Another time, a shot flew near a house (built after the course), and the staff gave out our phone numbers to the angry homeowner—cue two weeks of harassment for a window that wasn’t even broken. For the price, you’d expect professionalism, not pettiness. Never going back.
Little too crowded
Kind staffs with many good amenities.
Narrow fairways and turf greens. Course seems short but very difficult. Beer was kinda pricey. Challenging course.
Overall good
I hadn't played Coyote Hills in15-20 years and didn't remember it much at all. The course is typically Orange County (overly) expensive. The course was coming off of aerating 20 days ago and the greens were OK - not fast and a little bumpy but OK. Pace of play was surprisingly good for a saturday mid-day on a pretty challenging course. I give a lot of credit to the course for having marshals coming by frequently (must have been 4 times). I lost more balls (4) than I usually lose in 7 rounds and just couldn't find them (I will attribute that for not really knowing where to hit the ball and where it 'should' be distance-wise. Overall mostly a good experience, I won't choose it as the first place I play as it is pretty far away and pretty expensive, but such is golf these days.
Aerated greens started today
No warning on golf now. Greens look like the beach. I asked if I can cxl because Coyote hills failed to mention aeration times on golf now. This place is usually fun but this is pretty lame to not be able to cxl.
Is it worth the price
No, way too much for this par 70 course.
$165 on a Saturday.
Course was in good shape I think having not played it before.
Greens ran well.
A short course from the Blues for a par 70 course.
Great course with nice greens
Very nice fairways, tight and makes you think and strategise your play.
Pace of game rather slow with general public players.
Short course, challenge yourself with blue tee or black.
Always Great!
Great course. Very good conditions. Very few spots on the course you can complain about. Greens were rolling very true. Great condition overall and for the hot deal ($35) no one can complain about that. This course is always a good time. Shot an 84 with a double bogey on a par 5 🥴. So was an excellent day out on the course for me!
Excellent course
Course was in good shape for this time of year. I understand the painting of fairways. Greens were great. Course layout fantastic. A little disappointed that there is no chipping on that huge green by the driving range.
Good Round
Very nice course, pace of play could have been a little faster though
Coyote named Windy blew in today.
First off let me say this is a beautiful facility for weddings & other parties or receptions. The course is not long by today’s standards but is very difficult if you’ve never played it before. Lucky for me we got paired up with a nice gentleman who knew the in’s & outs of this place. He saved us many shots & lots balls due to bad bounces or run off. The elevation here is serious many holes play extremely down hill & you have to play to a target. Greens, Tees & Bunkers well kept & clean. Fairways had some dry areas that needed help or had been painted green to appear okay. The working oil rigs are super cool to look at when driving from hole to hole & the water doesn’t factor in too much unless you really can’t keep it straight. THIS IS DEFINITELY NOT A COURSE FOR BEGINNERS. The snack shack is great & the pro shop is very friendly.
