Great golf
Started at 7:20 in the morning the pace was great. The course was great. The greens were great. Everything was great.
Wanted it to be like the pictures on the website. It was not.
I was eagerly awaiting my round and had high hopes the course would live up to the language on the courses website that says it’s the premier course in Orange County. Far from it. The fairways are 3 out of 10 and appear to be really struggling. Sand traps are hugely inconsistent and greens just ok. The layout is not that interesting either. And one hole is suffering from a landslide. I could see the potential for good conditions but I’m afraid it’s going to really take some work.
For the money, $187.00, it’s no where near that good. My vote: if you can’t find a tee time other places and have a couple hundred burning a hole in your pocket, it may be a good option. I think it’s way over selling itself and needs lots of improvement.
Great Day @ Strawberry Farms
Played on a drizzly Wednesday. Course was empty. 35 cars in the parking lot.
Got out straight away as a single & didn't see anyone else til the 14th. Besides the cart lady who was out on that gloomy day.
Course was in very good shape tees thru the greens. On pace thru 12 for a 3 hour round, playing 2 balls most holes. Ran into one of the slowest threesomes I've ever seen on 14 though. Still finished in 3.5 hours, albeit as a threesome after finishing the last few holes with the twosome b that had been behind me.
Still a fun day at a great course. Always look forward to going back.
Worse course ever the the money
Paid around 180 something per person, green is just ok, other than green, everything is terrible, T box, fairways, carts, pace. I wouldn’t pay more than 50 for anything like that
Disappointing round
Normally I would recommend this course but this last round changed my thinking. $157 is way too much for a course like this. The greens were bumpy. The rough around the greens were bare and the fairways were spotty at best. It’s obvious that the green fees are not going into maintenance of the course.
Fast Pace - Fast Greens
When our Fourth of July holiday trip to Yosemite was canceled, we found ourselves with a day off on a Monday. We’ve played Strawberry Farms just one other time, but it’s so difficult to find tee times on the weekends. So we gave it a shot and found a great time.
The course was beautiful, just as we remembered from the first time that we played here. The course looked to be in great condition except for hole 10 which was under construction. Greens were fast. Hole placements varied with a couple quite close to greenside bunkers. Not nice, ha ha!
Our only complaint has nothing to do with the course itself. It was the automation in the carts with the obnoxious beeping when going through the construction zone. As well on Par 3’s A large window that shows a close-up of the green layers over the top and cannot be dismissed. I mean, I get it. It’s a part three so you can see it with your own eyes. So maybe you don’t need an overview. Choices are nice.
