Llano River Golf Course

About
Llano River Golf Course has the wonderful distinction of being laid out along the scenic Llano River, with beautiful views and great golf. This course should be a must-play anytime you’re touring through the immediate area.
In addition to the scenery, the most memorable feature of this course is the tiny, postage-stamp-sized greens that require pinpoint accuracy and a solid short game for pars. In fact, these well-manicured greens compare favorably to the tricky burial mound greens of Alpine and Marfa, and are surely some of the smallest targets in the state.
Mature trees line the fairways, and water hazards come into play on only three holes.
The best birdie opportunity is the short, par 5 13th hole, playing only 437 yards. Good golfers can get there in two and give it a roll at an eagle putt. The ender is talked about as the signature, a difficult 502-yard par 5 with out-of-bounds along the left as well as behind the green.
Getting there : In Llano turn left on the north side of the courthouse and head out to the course.

Fun course
Fun course staff is friendly tee boxes are in good shape the greens are pretty good the fairways are ok for the time of year. Course is not super hard but fun! I’ll take the time to drive an hour to play there again.
Loved the course
It was challenging, and was not overbooked. Looking forward to going back.
Golf on a Budget
Very affordable (thank you GolfNow)!
Course was pretty dry due to drought, greens weren't great, but we had fun and like I said, it was very affordable!
One complaint-- we got behind a sixsome, that finally let us play thru on #10!
Good for early February
Fun course. Forgiving fairways. Greens were in excellent shape. Will be going back.
Always a great time at Llano
Will always be my favorite Hill country golf course, already starting to look green again after being dormant thru the winter! Greens are great!
Llano Country Course
Although dry, the course was in really good shape, especially the green. Front 9 is tight but fun to maneuver. Back 9 is more open and forgiving, but layou has you planning your next shot so you don’t hit into another group on the adjacent hole. Overall a really nice golf adventure, will play again soon.
Turn off the @#$%! sprinklers!
I felt very tempted to ask for a "raincheck" as I was rained on it seemed like four straight holes. By sprinklers. I was drenched, my hearing aids were almost ruined, my phone was almost ruined, and my scorecard became a soggy cornflake.
I really like this course. But yesterday was unfortunate, to say the least.
Love playing Llano.
Good shape. Good pace. The golf pro is very helpful and a great guy!
