Nice but average too $$$
Advertises driving range there is none. No putting green. Course pace very slow. Waiting every hole. Very old but good carts. No description for hole on card or gps.needs some tlc.
NO greens
the fairways were acceptable, some i would even call good, but the greens are terrible. not just bad, but terrible. the overall condition of the whole place is a bit sad, but the staff were friendly enough.
crystal lake.
Nice course. Very well kept . greens a little slow but playable. Staff very friendly. Wish the course would of been a little longer
Greens still need work
This course has potential but the greens have been below acceptable standards for several years now. They should completely renovate them. They have tried the band aide approach for three years without sustained success.
Great Place, Friendly Atmosphere and Awesome Staff
Although the greens were freshly aerated I can tell that this course is fun to play. Very nice staff both inside and out, they were very attentive to my needs and went above and beyond what I expected as good service. I remember Jonathan being very friendly and informative and Mica had my bag loaded on a cart before I even got outside. The course was in good shape, it appeared they have been working on the fairways and weed control. Very fair and fun course to play. Will be back.
Unplayable greens
As a first time guest, one would wish for some help and directions... I was not recognised as I walked in to the clubhouse/bar/proshop staff, for some time.
When I finally got someones attention, I was expedited without any kind of enthusiasm.
After first have been told that the driving range was closed, dur to maintenance (nothing wrong with that) I discovered as I came outside, that it was fully operational!
Well - playing up to the first green, fairways were patchy and a bit rough, but OK!
The green however was absolutely not "puttable" - newly piped/drilled and so poorly dressed it was like playing on the surface of the Moon.
Horrible Conditions
This has got to be the worst shape this course has been in years. It's a shame they let it get this bad just to try and get it back into shape for the Canadians that will soon arrive. Staff is very friendly, but they should let you play for free at this time, at least the people there would make some money.
Fun and decent coarse, can't beat the price.
Great time for cheap. Coarse is in good condition the greens are heavily dried out and are slow which is odd cause the grass is cut short and its dry.
Old Florida Course...Fun to Play....Good Value
Have played here a good deal over the past two summers. In the winter it is impossibly crowded and slow, but it is a great place to play during the summer months when the crowds are thinner. Not a terribly difficult course, but good for the intermediate golfer who can score well if ball is kept in the fairway. Greens are slow, but well maintained. The rough can be difficult to navigate when it rains and they don't get a chance to mow it before you play. Once mowed it is a fair penalty if you drift off the fairway. Traps are decent for South Florida..not white fluffy soft sand, but not terrible. The course is shorter than the listed distances...good for the mid-range driver of the ball. Overall a fun course to play.
Classic layout
I just finished playing the course for the first time. Best rate going and a staff that bends over backward to please the golfer. One of my partners was running late and they easily accomodated us. They mentioned some greens had some challenges. The ball still rolled fine. Cold Beer, great atmosphere and it is nice to see smiling faces. Great layout and can be all you want from the tips. Still very playable for the ladies with us. We will be back!
good value for the money.
Greens were not in great shape. Tee boxes needed trimming.
Overall, good value for the money
11-12 Crystal Lake Round (greens need work)
The course is a great deal for the dollar and the design is challenging and fun. I've always enjoyed this course, but recent reseeding has trashed the greens. I'd wait till December for these course greend to be back up to shape.
This Course is good for the intermediate player
Overall the course is in good shape all the time. The only problem is they are always sanding the greens so putting is not favorable. As for value even during season the price is good and the staff friendly.
Great course layout
The course has great fairways, the tee boxes could use some attention. The greens are OK, run fast but thats good for a challenge
Very tight from back tees.
Place seemed in worse shape than I when I last played it this summer. Greens are just hanging on and have lots of weeds or different strains, but they cut it very short so you can roll the ball.
