About
Northern California's San Juan Oaks Golf Club is located halfway between the Silicon Valley and Monterey Peninsula off Highway 101 near the historic town of San Juan Bautista in Hollister. Opened in 1996, the 18-hole golf course is Fred Couples' first signature design in California and features five sets of tees for varying skill levels. It's also home to "Club Boom Boom," a popular junior teaching program. On top of the golf course, San Juan Oaks is known especially for its elaborate facilities including banquet rooms and patios for group outings, as well as driving range and practice greens.

No snack cart, no snack bar personel
Everything was great with the exception of their snack cart and snack bar personnel both called in sick??? No back contingencies??? Good thing the course was in great shape and the day conditions was perfect!
Perfect attitude for their starter (Mike) I believe he said he's been there 10 years, informative, sociable and efficient.
Amazing
Played here Sunday and yes the price is up there , but well worth it . The greens are pro greens fast and the fairways amazing . Staff was great!!! Once the restaurants are all open wow might be the best course around . Great job ! I’ll be here this Sunday to upload pics
It’s open and is great as ever!
Great course! It has reopened and it is is terrific shape! They reversed the nines and did some minor changes ( removed a few bunkers and trees! They made it a little more player friendly! The range is in very good shape! They aren’t quite up to speed with the food (snack shack was open but I didn’t try anything, the starter assured me that the pre-made sandwiches were great)!
Overall, it was a great experience!
This definitely a course you want to play!
hit the practice green prior to round
Great challenging course. Make getting a feel for the greens a priority as they are slow. Unique in a way because I've never played a challenging layout with slow greens but they roll true. staff is friendly drink service at the turn was friendly and course condition was excellent.

This is my favorite course in the area! Well worth the money, always in good condition and pace of play is good on most days. Layout and scenery is 10/10! Play this course! You won’t be disappointed!

Course in excellent condition
Greens and fairways are in excellent condition. Only complaint is the state of the bunkers. Many are hard pan.

Great course, but slow
The front 9 is straight forward and fabulous. The back 9 goes up into the hills - 3 split fairways makes it unusual. The back 9 is 3-4 shots harder than the front 9. So get your golf groove on during the front 9, then make good decisions on the back 9. Enjoy

One of my favorite course
it’s one of my favorite course in Bay Area with little driving but worth it. Greens are in well conditions all time. Loved back nine holes tough but I like the challenges.

Super slow green, slower pace of play
Green is too slow, as it has been.
Two groups of seniors in front of me left 2+ holes empty & enjoyed their Sunday outing with slow play, taking 5+ hours for 18 holes. The GPS on the cart kept complaining about my pace, but course marshall didn't try to push them.
I will not try this course again in pleasant weekend when seniors can have their loose socializing, which happened to me not just once.
And I wish they could make green faster & pour some sand in the bunker.
