TPC Tampa Bay

About
TPC Tampa Bay can be as challenging as the golfer wants it to be. But be prepared to pay the price for taking the risks. Located just a 20-minute ride from the Tampa International Airport in Lutz, TPC Tampa Bay is open to the public seven days a week. A Bobby Weed design, TPC Tampa Bay is part of a network of courses owned and operated by PGA Tour Golf Course Properties. The fairways have subtle movement and weave through lakes and natural wetlands - 19 in all - and around strategic bunkers that number 81. The greens are large (averaging 6,400 square feet) and undulating, and most are open in the front, offering golfers the option of hitting run-up approach shots. There's a clubhouse and a fully stocked golf shop offering a complete line of equipment and apparel from the top names in golf to complement the course.

Perfect day
Pro shop and bar staff were great. Very professional and courteous.
Beautiful day, course overall in great shape. Fast greens and solid breeze made it a good challenge. Can't wait to go back.
Nice layout and enjoyable
Best conditioned course I have experienced in the Tampa Bay Area. Friendly folks, easy pace of play
A real review. 2 thumbs up.
Mid march round, typical weather. 4 handicap feom Blue tees about 6600 yards, par 71.
Was concerned reading existing reviews and I can assure you this is as good as it gets in Tampa St Pete for challenging playability.
Everyone I encountered was friendly from pros, starter, cart stand, maintenance to the bar.
Layout is terrific. Very varied, water in play on probably 15 holes. Houses along some of the course but quite set back and not really noticeable. Good mix of length across all holes- par 3s, 4s and 5s. Par 4s pretty much 400+ but there is a short par 4 on each side. Can say I used every club in my bag which is pretty unique. One or two holes ended up obstructed from the fairway but no bog deal given first time playing the course.
Biggest challenge is off the tees in terms of hazards. No strictly forced carries where you have no choice on how big a bite to take. Greens were fantastic. Very puttable, no circus putts, and very little grain running at 11. Fairways tight but good lies throughout. March so the rough was thin.
Highly recommend.
TPC first time
Great track, great shape, back 9 harder then from. Enjoyed but price is steep

Thanks for the awesome feedback, Brad! We're glad you enjoyed the track and found it challenging. We appreciate your input on pricing and will keep it in mind. Hope to see you back for another round soon!
Stay out of the bunkers
Tee boxes and fairways are in good condition. Greens were slow and need rolling but very playable. Bunkers were hard as rock and had not been groomed. Golf carts were old and need of repair and quite frankly an insult for the 275$ green fees.
A Little Expensive But Very Good Golf Experience
The driving range and golf course is in very good shape, even after several inches of rain fell the night before (cart path only that day). Maintenance was out in force making repairs and it didn’t interfere with play. The pace of play was ok and when there were groups out of position, a ranger would ask the group to play quicker. The routing and design was very manageable with a cart. Overall, it was one of the best public courses in the Tampa/St Pete region.

We’re thrilled to hear you enjoyed the course conditions and pace of play, even after the rain. Our maintenance team works hard to keep everything in top shape, and we’re glad you noticed. Looking forward to welcoming you back soon!
Expect more from a TPC Course
Staff was great and very friendly
Tee Time was for 1:59, While waiting to check in the 2:30 group was given the 1;59 tee time on an oversite on the Clubhouses part (We where there and ready, and clubs on the cart). Got bumped to 2:44 but did get a nice discount. Things happen.
The course did not match the Website in any way not to mention it was cart path only. we were told by the starter not at the clubhouse.
The course does have a nice layout but i would expect it to be in much better condition, after all it does carry the TPC name. Greens speed was great but the over all course was not in much better shape than many public course in July. This was March 17TH. Pretty expensive when your local course is in better shape for a fraction on the price.
TPC Tampa
Course was in ok shape, greens were good and fairly fast. Over all the course was in ok condition. Had a tee time at 1:59, but got bumped to 2:44 because of an oversite on their part. The group in front was checking in for the 2 30 tee time. But they let them go out at 1 59. We did get a $100 discount. Staff was very friendly. It also was cart path only which we wasn’t told until the starter told us.
Expectation more from a TPC course. Played a different TPC course before and the condition of TPC Tampa was not even close. Even with the discount it was extremely overpriced for what you get.

Thanks for your feedback, Joe. We're glad you enjoyed the tee boxes and fairways. We take your concerns about the greens, bunkers, and carts seriously and will address them with our team to improve your experience. We appreciate your input and hope to see you again soon!
Over priced.
Simply put the course is very nice and the staff was awesome. It’s just not worth the 300$ a round.

Thanks for the great feedback! We’re thrilled you enjoyed the course and our staff. We appreciate your thoughts on the pricing and will take them into consideration as we strive to provide the best experience possible. Your input means a lot to us!
deception
grass brownish, greens inconsistent and aerated, difficult to figure out pin placement, pace of play awful, expected much more from a TPC that charges 300$+, lucky i had a deal

Hi there, thanks for sharing your feedback. We're glad you enjoyed the greens and our friendly staff. We apologize for the tee time mix-up and the lack of communication regarding cart path restrictions. Your experience is important to us, and we'll work to improve moving forward.

Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate your time and insight. The course is transitioning nicely into the spring and will continue to get greener every day.
Over Priced Name Course
Second time I’ve played this course and it’s not with the $283 rate. Greens are great and layout is great…But you’re paying for the old TPC name and it’s not with it. It’s a vacationers course for people willing to fork out $283 for an average course. Your could buy a new driver for one round of golf here! Save your money and go elsewhere. Round was 5 hours with 11 am tee time.
NOT TPC WORTHY
5.5hr round, Ranger told us “not much we can do” but said he agreed that the course overbooks tee times. By the end of our round we had kids fishing ponds in front of our tee boxes where we had to tell them to lay down in case of an errant ball. Kids on bikes on the cart path a few holes later. Following that whole we had a family of 3 walking down the cart path allowing their child (6 or 7 year old) to run through the fairway bunkers then onto the green and stand on the hill behind the green while we are hitting approach shots. Parents not saying ANYTHING so I have to yell from 150 yards out to tell him to get off the green. Finished the last two holes in the dark. 1:06 tee time. Greens were in great condition for the most part. Fairways solid but nobody replaces and fills divots. Plenty of courses around to pay that kind of money for a better experience. When you think TPC, you won’t think this course.

if pace of play was enforced there would never be rounds over 4 hours.

Thanks for the 4-star rating! We appreciate your support and are glad you had a positive experience. If there's anything specific you loved or think we could improve, we're all ears. Your input helps us keep moving forward!
