Just be up front with patrons
I used to play here often years ago. The greens haven't been cut in months, it was like putting on fairways or the first cut of rough. The course appeared to have been neglected and it appeared they were doing some work on tee boxes. I was very desapointed, I asked the gentleman who took my money and he said it was worse months ago and that they were not cutting greens because they didn't want to lose them again? Wake up Fairhope you own a golf course? Hire a greenskeeper and make this place look like you care, oh you only care about old downtown I forgot.....Sorry what was I thinking?
The worse play so for this year
No progress has been made on the course over the last 10 yrs. The owner does not care about any complaints or poor service, per the Boss Brian Heitert
no way it’s a 4.3
Fairways sparse, greens slow and unimpressive (and half had been aerated but wasn’t informed when paying. Just a very average muni track. Don’t know how it was rated the same as Rock Creek - a superior course in every facet.
Great public course
Very nice, greatly maintained municipal course. Clubhouse staff are friendly and helpful for whatever you need. Has some nice water holes, good elevation changes and overall nice layout. Can be sneaky challenging on some holes. Greens were well groomed. Nice cold beer on the porch at the clubhouse after the round. I would recommend to anyone.
Tree lined
Course was tree lined with several holes with water fairly challenging need to play more than once to feel comfortable
Nice Muni
Good Municipal course, Close to Gulf shores. low traffic on a Monday morning.
Not enough water
For the money not a bad place . If the course will not permit outside coolers they need to have more water to drink on the course . They had 3 or 4 water fountains on the course , but if you have 3 or 4 guys playing in a group the last couple of guys have to drink warm water because the first two drank up all the cold water when they filled up their bottles . You can get a cooler and buy drinks from pro shop but they cost too much other than that it was great
Not bad for the price
Greens we're not bad for $32. No cart service, water fountain was working well.
Greens in horrible shape, nice layout
It wasn't the friendliest of intros being told three times the cart needs to be in by seven and the greens were an absolutely horrible shape. Putting out of the sand traps would've been straighter and faster. The course layout was nice.
Great Little Muni
Overall, this was a great muni course. I had a great time. The fairways were in excellent shape. The tee boxes and greens weren't in the best of shape, but that has something to do with the 100 year flood the area experienced two weeks ago. The back side was in much better shape than the front. Pace of play was excellent. I played from the back tees, playing the course for the first time, and shot 77 (6.1 index). So it's not the most difficult course. Greens were very slow...generally easy two putts on most holes, but difficult to get a feel for the break on some. Folks in this area are very fortunate to have a course like this, this level of golf, this affordable. I would love to come back and play the course again in the future.
Fun course
Great local course with friendly staff. Challenging holes that allow you to use all the clubs in your bag. Greens could be in better shape and are getting there as the weather stays warm. The pin placements make for some challenging putts. All and all great course.
" EXCEPTIONAL COURSE LAYOUT " !
" A Very Fine Mix, of "Dog-legs & Straight - away" tree lined Holes, with Water on 4,5,7 & 18 that comes in to play. The Front Nine has more twist and turns, and the Back Nine is more Straight-away. Greens are running Fair and True with nice speed, fairways are in pretty good shape for this early in the spring. Player's are "Courteous" , walking groups allowed me to play-through (as i was a single/riding) ! Staff was "friendly & helpful",! This is a " FULL SERVICE " Facility, with driving range ,chipping & putting green(s), Club house and Stocked Pro shop.
"Very Scenic and a Pleasure to Play"!!

Nice course
I've played this course a few times and always enjoy it. There a few holes with water, one that your tee shot has to clear. The course is well maintained and is a lot of fun to golf on.
An enjoyable course with some interesting and challenging holes.
I have played the course several times over the past 6 years - always an enjoyable round.
Good value
In good condition for Feb. Could do without the painted fairways, but greens are growing well. Fairways need work.
Course was in great shape and the staff was super friendly!
We played fast which was great because it was hot out. Greens were immaculate and course is designed well. Tight fairways with the trees but if you have a good tee shot you can score well. We'll be back on our next visit to Gulf Shores!
Great course for driving in fairhope, alabama
Stopped here on way to vacation because it is on golf now. Got a great deal . Most fairways are straight with few hazards. Decent shape of course for April. Course has wide fairways
Good course but rude staff
The course is really nice, but the staff (at least the guy behind the counter when I checked-in) was very rude, and seemed to think that just because we had a cheaper rate to play, that he could just push us back behind other customers to tee off later. I think he had some friends up there playing or something, and we ended up teeing off late, due to his management. I would go back and play if he wasn't working there.
Well worth the play for an afternoon of interesting golf.
The course is fair and the people are friendly. We had a good time. Didn't play well but that was me not the course. I don't like courses with houses this close to the fairways. Especially on the back nine. I keep having to learn that courses on the Gulf take one more club than in central Missouri
