Willowick Golf Course

About
Opened in 1929, Willowick Golf Course in Santa Ana is Orange County's oldest public golf course. It is a challenging layout that has garnered a quite a following over the years. The course features wide fairways and large greens that offer ample room. There aren’t any water hazards a few strategically placed sand traps come into play and there are also mature trees lining the fairways. Golfers will get to practice a variety of different shots on this course. It is player-friendly enough for high-handicappers but there are still some challenges for low handicappers. The excellent condition of the greens and fairways are inviting no matter what your skill level. In addition to the golf course, Willowick also offers a grass driving range and three practice putting greens.

Great value. Fast pace for a Saturday AM
Plaid as a single and pace was fast. Finished 18 in 3.5 hours. Some fairways could use additional trimming as balls can get lost but overall great value and speed for the price.
TeeBox
Some fairways and some Tee box are needs to improve for better conditions.
Tee areas.
This course needs more repair and upgrade tee areas
Course unkept
Gopher holes galore and losing balls only b/c fairway grass was tall enough to keep weeds in flowering state--the flowers were white!
Do not waste money
We had an early tee time you would think pace of play would be great. Not when they put 2 fivesomes in front of you. The pace of play is going to get backed up for everyone behind them. Shocking. Then when I addressed to the pro shop I was told “oh, I can only think of one that would be out there”. Kinda crazy you don’t know who is playing on your course. Also, course is in horrible condition hitting off dirt in the middle of the fairway is not ideal. All in all don’t waste money here. If they charged a $1 I still wouldn’t play there
Awesome track
Overall.. the golf course is very good.. layout is fantastic, of course the condition of some fairways need work but nothing, you can fixed by bumping the ball, and you are good to go. I highly recommend it... if you are looking for something better.. there are $400 dollars courses you can go 😅. Thanks willowick
Enjoyed our day
I hadn't played Willowick for over 50 years. My friend had never played it before. We had a good time the early part of our round up until the last four holes the weather was excellent. The wind came up late in our round.
We look forward to playing here again.
Willowick
I Love the Wick and have been a loyal customer for roughly 15yrs.since I moved to Southern California, especially the staff, they always have down to earth people, not snobbish like some courses I've been to here and never went back to..
Willowick, the demise of a nice course
I had to see a chiropractor after my round yesterday, There are so many animal holes, and non planted areas you need and ATV, not a golf cart. The approach to every green was torn up with animal holes, trying to get a decent approach shot was ridiculous. The green fees are a great deal, but still not worth it.
it was terrible totally.
Paying this golf club to play golf is the most pathetic thing. What a waste of money.
