Bayou Oaks City Park North Course

About
Golf has been played at City Park since 1902 when the nine-hole New Orleans Golf Club opened. At the time it was one of only 80 golf courses in the country. There were four 18-hole courses at the complex before it was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. The North Course was rebuilt in 2009 and now there is also a 36-hole mini-golf complex. The course is just over 5,400 yards from the back tees and features water on eight holes. Proper club selection is the key to scoring well on this layout. The golf course is popular among both locals and visitors because it's not only player friendly enough to accommodate all skill levels but its location is also easily accessible from anywhere in New Orleans. The affordable rates make it even more appealing and there's also a 74-stall driving range.

Reviews
Bayou oaks at city park north course
This course is very forgiving for novice and beginners it is also a great course to walk the only reason I gave a 4 star rating was it was quite wet don’t know if it is like this all the time or just because of the weather we had the last couple weeks but overall I’ll give it a 5 star rating
Tee time isn’t expensive, everything else is
I paid $9 for a tee time at the north course, walking. Great deal for how nice this course can be. (Most) greens were awful, some having massive divots in the fringe, others with weird gaps where grass just doesn’t grow. But for $9 what can you really expect. I arrived 1 hour early to warm up. Last I went, I think it was $10-12 for a medium bucket, which was great value. Now, if you’re going to charge $16 for a medium bucket, you would expect the grass conditions of the hitting range to be, well, grass. Had to choose between warming up on the worn down mats (but they do have a trackman!!) or literal sand with tiny patches of dollarweed grass. I understand the cold front we just went through, but with charging almost $20 for a bucket of balls, you would think they could close the sides down and maybe even level it out so the players could hit on actual grass.
Hidden fees
Nice course for the green fees but the cart fee was double the green fees and per person. It made it almost the same price as the south course. For the total price it was not worth it but still a nice day out. Also the GPS on the carts were not up to date with the accurate pin placement.
Very High Cart Fees
So dont be fooled by the low value of a hot deal. This is fine if you are walking. I idid know that a cart fee would be charged and it seems as I read $15 somewhere, but then the cart ended up being $21/22 per person, so now I am paying over 40 for the cart for my son and I to play. Not such a hot deal now. Greens were okay, some of the fairways are very narrow. Golf shop manager did not even bother to say, someone will be with you shortly. It was like I was invisiable to him as he was talking with someone else.
Hospitality was most appreciated
The course of late has been in better than average condition, David my starter made today’s round most enjoyable as hospitality is key in making an ok experience into a much more enjoyable one
Rude staff and patched up greens - bumpy
No greeting on check in - rude staff - first time ever on golf now cart was not included and worker rude about saying round doesn’t come with cart - you want one or not when making a face and raising voice.
When asked about 1st tee box said I don’t know - go across street and ask Marshall
I’m from out of town and didn’t want to create scene but corse conditions matched staff..
Course layout was Great!!!
Great for the budget golfer.
I got a deal off GolfNow for a low price. The course shape is equivalent to the low price. It's a lot of weekend warriors or people who don't play often so the pace can be really slow. Staff is great and good was pretty good.
Good cheap course need better greens
Need some greens maintenance done, besides that great course!
Good bang for your buck
Good place to get a practice rounds in for the cheap
