Cardinal at Diamondhead Country Club

About
The 18-hole Cardinal at Diamondhead Country Club, half of a 36-hole layout on the property, is a semi-private course that opened in 1979.
Designed by Earl Stone, the golf course measures 6,831 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 132 and a 72.7 USGA rating. The course features four sets of tees for different skill levels.
The major challenges for both golf courses are their tree-lined fairways. The Cardinal Course is wooded and was built on gently rolling terrain. It has no parallel fairways and extra-long sand bunkers.

Great place to play
Played the Cardinal course at Diamondhead, MS, the fairways and green were in great shape, (woods and water not so much). Very friendly staff
Nice challenge
First time playing this course in over 20 years. Played the Cardinal course last year and enjoyed it. The Pines course is maybe a little tighter and plays more as a positional course. OB looms and just about every hole, and when conditions are firm, balls may just roll out of bounds, which can be disappointing.
Currently, the par four 12th hole is being worked on, looks like they are resodding the fairway, so it's playing as a par-3 of 150 yards.
Tee boxes and fairways were in nice shape. Greens were outstanding - putting here is a premium because of a lot of movement on the greens which were firm and quick. I thoroughly enjoyed my round here and look forward to returning. It's about an hour drive from my home, but I think it's worth the drive.

Course was in great shape. Greens were excellent and very challenging.
Great course
The course was in great condition. Friendly staff. Pace of play was fantastic. Played in 3 hours.
Pine course Diamond Head
First time playing this course. The course was for the most part in great shape. They had one hole that was a par 4 that they were doing repairs in the fairway and they made it a par 3. The greens were super fast. Took we awhile to get used to the speed. Could put from way off the green.
Pace of play was slow. They had a lot of play for a Wednesday at 1:30.
Staff was super friendly.
If I had to complain about anything it would be the driving range matts. They leave a bad film on the bottom of your clubs. It took me forever to get it off the bottom of my 3w when I got home. They could update their matts. Other than that a great course. I plan on going pack to play the cardinal. They say it is a tighter course.
Diamondhead
I have been golfing for 32 years, I live on a course in Michigan which I’m a member at, and I have never had such a warm welcoming to a club. I believe she was a new manager, I forgot her name, but she was so incredible and helpful. The rest of the staff was amazing also but she really stood out. If you visit Mississippi for some golf do not pass this up. Course was great. Facilities were great.
great condition
Very playable with good fairways and very nice smooth greens. All well maintained.
Nice course to play
It's a nice course. There are plenty of challenges for most players. The greens are in good shape and play pretty fast.
This is a popular course, expect the pace of play to be quick.

Staff is very attentive a professional. Courses are always in great shape. After round locations are a must here in a very active 19th hole!
