No other course like this in VA
This course is a must play. It’s an absolute gem of a course tucked out in the New Kent area. It was of course challenging but it was still enjoyable to play here. The layout is just incredible and reminded me of Tobacco Road in NC.

This course was very challenging.
Very hilly, open course. This course was extremely challenging. A lot of walking. We did 9 holes and we were exhausted. If your bucket list is to play in Ireland this is the State version of it.

Great course! It’s as fast as they lay out the tee times. Staff moved GOLFNOW tee time from 9:40 to 10:10 to compensate for overbooking but we still got on.

Great experience!
I played on a gorgeous New Year's Eve with my two sons, and we could not have had a better time. Everyone is very friendly and helpful, the cost is minimal compared to other courses, and the links layout is a one-of-a-kind challenge. Highly recommend!

Royal New Kent
Cart path only is more challenging as the paths tend to wander away from the field of play at times. Greens physically in great shape given off-season play. Dye or colored fertilizer made reading break more challenging. Overall a must play for public golf.

BOOSTERS AND BOOMERS
Golfed here for the first time and figured early on a Tuesday I could get a round finished in a decent amount of time but apparently these issues are unavoidable…
The course layout is awesome but the unfortunate truth is the majority of folks are older and or triple boosted and struggle to hit the ball over 100 yards off the tee.
You could fly to London in the time it takes to play 18 here.

Beautiful & Challenging
Royal New Kent is a doozy. If you enjoy challenging layouts, beautiful views, and don't mind walking/riding long distances this is the course for you. Went with a foursome and it was a great time. Greens were all in great condition and that's impressive for the time of year we went. We will definitely be heading back soon to lose a couple more golf balls!
