Some consider the Estates course (formerly known as Adobe golf course) at the Arizona Biltmore Golf Club to be grand and stately, a prime example of golf course design in the pre-modern era, combining rare beauty with solid trickery. It makes for a round both relaxing and challenging played on lush 50-year-old fairways, with a spacious layout, reminding on of golf as it ought to be played: the glory days when graphite went into pencils and balls were only white.

The Adobe golf course at the Arizona Golf Club measures 6,430 yards from the white tees and comes in at par-71.

Due to the mild Arizona winters, the Adobe Golf Course at the Arizona Biltmore Golf Club is open year-round.

Estates Course was disappointing & overpriced

They obviously spent a lot of money renovating the pro shop & restaurant, but virtually nothing on the golf course. Planting lots of ficus column trees to try to block errant shots does not constitute a course renovation!

The crowned greens with false fronts are already brown (in April!) & scraped dry with virtually no grass on them. They’re unfairly rock-hard & will not hold any shots. Doesn’t matter how good a shot you hit. It’s not going to stay on greens that play like a concrete driveway.

The age-old routing problems on the Estates course persist. The crazy layout means you’re constantly in danger of being hit by wayward shots from other golfers. Most fairways are routed back-and-forth next to another fairway. It’s much too easy for shots to go off-line & land in someone else’s vicinity. It’s actually dangerous.

The fairways, unlike the greens, were in good condition. Tee grounds were only fair- rock-hard like the greens.

Overall, the Estates course plays like a good muni, but with diabolical greens. It’s in a beautiful location & the surrounding scenery is fantastic, but that doesn’t justify the premium prices for this course.

There are dozens of other courses around Phoenix & Scottsdale that are in far better condition. It’s a shame.

Nice redesign

The redesign of the Estates course was very nice. The app I use for distance was not updated but the on cart GPS was great. Other than a few singles players that appeared from nowhere and seemed to be members jumping in and playing wherever they chose, it as a good round.

Layout not great!

We had played the links course and really enjoyed it. However the Estate course was definitely not the same. Many fairways and tee boxes inter connect so balls flying all over the place. Our cart got hit by a ball and I almost got hit by another ball while waiting to tee off on tee box. The course itself is good but just too dangerous in my opinion. To make it worst there where some groups of 5 that we saw and our round was 5 hours and 15 minutes. Won't play the Estate course again but will the links. The staff and facilities were all great!

Biltmore Estates

Really tight course, lots of balls flying around. Several greens are so firm, hard to land ball. I will likely not play again.

Classic Old Style Course

While this course was recently updated, it really plays like an old outer and inner circle course. It is worth playing once. Nice to see the older mansions surrounding it being updated.

Not worth the price

The grounds were hard, fairways are narrow, staff was not friendly at all. Trying to place your tee in the grounds was so dry and hard. Golfers were all over adjacent fairways. Staff was rude, short and too busy to be helpful!

Disappointing for such a nice resort

Firstly, it was windy and there had been cancellations so that probably helped the pace of play, but, on the other hand, I don’t think the wind would have helped the greens, which were hard and quite rough.
The course isn’t at all tricky, but the fairways often run parallel and we were constantly waiting for people who had strayed onto our fairway to play their ball. We all know it happens from time to time, but this was seemingly on every hole.
The tenth runs alongside the driving range and there is no net to protect you…..not ideal!
The tee boxes were very hard and, as I mentioned earlier, so were the greens. You had very little chance of holding the green if you pitched on it.
I had good company and enjoyed my afternoon, but I wouldn’t want to be paying full price for this. Perhaps if we ever get some rain, the course might play a little better.

The course renovation is nice and it was in good shape. Question if it’s worth $200 charged Also GOLFNOW app . Map function took me to an office complex nearby and not the clubhouse so I almost missed my tee time. Clubhouse remodel is nice th

Nice layout, gorgeous views

If you are looking for a parklands style course where you are more likely to spot a MLBer at Spring training than a rattlesnake, this is a great course. Reachable par 5’s, and consistent greens makes this a target course for going low. No rocks and cactus. Water doesn’t come into play. Forgiving fairways. And did I mention gorgeous views! It’s a really pretty track. Played in just under 4 hrs. Couldn’t have asked for a better option. A tad pricey, but worth it for a high handicapper looking for a chance to break 90.
