McCormick Ranch Golf Club features two lush manicured year-round courses amid the lovely views of Scottsdale. Both the Palm and Pine golf courses' championship tees lay to over 7,000 yards, and there are also the options of men's, seniors' and ladies' tee sets to allow everyone a crack at the tests offered by these golf courses.

Golf Illustrated selected the ninth hole of the Palm Course at the McCormick Ranch Golf Club to be "One of the USA's Top 18 Water Holes." It's just one of 10 water holes on the golf course, which, as you might imagine, also features lots of big palms. In all, the golf course plays to over yards from the blue tees, including four par-5 holes that measure over 500 yards.

A round of golf on the Palm Course at the McCormick Ranch Golf Club kicks off on the par-4 first hole, which plays close to 400 yards from the blue tee and requires a drive right-center to ensure a short-iron second shot.

Fairways very green along with the greens but the grass on the fairways was cut very low and even if you were in middle of fairway the ground was either very damp and would grab your clubs or very dry and you could not get under the ball. The hardness of the ground gave long runs on balls hit on the ground but made if more difficult to go over traps around the green. Mother nature brought in literally hundreds of geese and droppings were a problem. Can't complain about the costs especially at this time of year

Good course

Pace was good, turf conditions were as expected for late spring overseed. Transitioning to summer turf with low temperatures is always challenging. Should be real good by late May. Staff is always professional and personable.

SLOW

2 hours 45 minutes through front nine. So hot I quit after nine. Prices are crazy and play is slow across the valley. All out for as much money as they can get. Fortunately played with great guys.

It been better

Played here a lot in the past. It’s an OK layout. Expensive for the condition. We got to play the front nine on both the palm and the pine and the greens on the palm were incredibly hard and crazy fast. And the pine’s greens were much more receptive and softer.

Palm Course

Not sure what’s going on with the course this year, but it was a terrible condition. Lotta dead spots lotta standing water. Just everything was bad except the greens were really good.

Front 9 was fine. Back nine was in very rough shape.

Very dry. It may not be the fault of the course, but it needed a lot more water!

The course itself looks pretty the greens are next to impossible to hold. I usually generate a decent amount of spin but most approach shots would bounce and roll an extra 30/40 feet. Fairways were eh. Overall would not recommended this course for the money

Not worth the money

Overrated. Biggest complaint is the greens are rock hard and SUPER fast. Many times we hit the green and it bounces over. Fairways are extremely sparse, of grass. Ground so hard it was difficult to get tee in ground. IMO only reason it is popular is location, location, location.

Some very unfriendly pin positions with thin grass

I hit the green on at least four holes where the ball then rolled off into the water. The grass was very thin in most areas so be ready to hit off hardpan. On hole #9, I hit the island fairway and the balled rolled into the water.
