Loved Course, but…
$130 was a little steep and sadly, I couldn’t save a penny on military tee times; only flaw playing Sun City Grand courses, no discounts for military or law enforcement. Great course and friendly staff though!
Cancelled tee times with no notice
Cancelled our tee times with no notice , if you’re paying $130 to golf a course and they have to cancel tee times due to frost delays , there’s not so many tee times that they shouldn’t be able to contact one person out of each group and notify them their tee times is cancelled, drove 45 mins across town to find out my tee time was cancelled , I’ll just golf somewhere else in the future
Fun Course and Friendly Staff
Really fun course to play. Difficult enough to provide a challenge but not overly penalizing. Will definitely be back to play from the tips at 7000 yds.
Enjoyable Experience
Course was in great shape considering this time of year!! The only complaint I have with this course along with the surrounding courses (Granite Falls and Cimarron) is that there are no ice chests available. I get alot of the community in that area own their carts however, there are quite a bit of outsiders like myself that play these courses. There should be no reason to not have ice chests with the carts. It’s 110-120 degrees consistently during this time of the year. Please make the investment!!!
Good course
Overall solid course, but the driving range was closed. Greens were a little slow, but very firm. Difficult to hold the greens from around the green. Good layout, but make sure you know where the water and waste areas are. It’s hard to tell off the tee how close trouble actually is. Good variety of tee boxes with set combos. The fairways are still a little burnt out, but no real issue.
Course good/staff unfriendly
Course was in good condition with good layout. However the staff isn’t very welcoming and Marshall’s constantly complaining about pace of play even though we were ahead of pace. Finished 18 holes in 3hrs and 40 minutes
Real nice coarse.
The coarse was actually in great shape for the record breaking heat we've had. Played with 3 other guys. Great time, nice round.
Course for retiree
My group of 8 decided to play on a Sunday afternoon. Most courses around Avondale / Gooodyear did not have tee time available. I expanded my search and found Desert Springs and had a reasonable price for non-residents. Course was in a big community with multiple courses. This course maybe designed for 50 and over retirees. As soon as we got to parking lot, a few of residents/members gave us the looks like we were in the wrong place. It’s one thing if it’s just me noticing it but all 8 of my guys felt unwelcome. The clubhouse lady was very nice and again with some patrons inside giving us the looks. We decided to just ignore it and enjoy our day. After our second hole, the Marshal visited us and looks like he was tracking our pace of play. My group are good players and knows golf pace of play. On our 6th hole, we see the same marshal driving towards us on the tee box. It was my turn to hit my tee shot so I stopped to wait for him to clear. He then drove his cart just right front off the tee box and parked, pulled his tee sheet and waved me to tee off. I play a high draw so I tent to aim more to the right but with him in front of me to the right, I had to change my aim and over drew my tee shot to the left. This was not the last visit by this marshal as we saw him again on the 8th or 9th hole. All this visit , not once he asked or told us we were behind pace. What was the reason for all this visits?
If your going to open your course to the public, I would hope everyone is treated the same way. The course clubhouse, practice facility and the course itself was great but the marshal and the members are not too welcoming of random brown skin folks. never have I been so uncomfortable and upset on a public golf course.
My Ratings : 1-5

Green
This course is fairly open and pretty easy overall. I have not played this course for various reasons for a few years. I see that the summer price has gone up post covid and after renovating one of the other courses here. The course was very green for summer. The fairways had plenty of grass. There were a few burn spots but nothing drastic. The rough was very thick, long and dark green. You do not get much roll out in the fairways, but I would rather have plenty of grass under the ball than extra roll out. The only take away was the putting surface. They still have not recovered from aeration. They were bumpy, jumpy and lumpy. You had to hit a firm putt and just get close to the pin. The ball would sometimes turn harshly as it slowed down.
Very playable for high handicaps
Have not played this course in several years, mainly because of the expensive green fees. We did manage to book a rate that we were OK with. Probably the resident twilight rate, so decided to take some friends that had not previously played the course. We did have a later tee time and were not sure if we would be able to finish, but the pace of play was fine. Not a lot of character for the course, but still enjoyed the round. Would play it again for the right price, but not the rack rate. There are more courses in the area that are better courses for less money.
Great course.
Played for the first time here and the course was in awesome shape. Very wide fairways and lots of desert. Water on a few holes and some nice mountain views. Teed off just before 2 so we got a great rate and we got around in 4 hours on a Sunday. It was getting dark but I was surprised we got in 18 holes. Definitely going back.
