The River Club

Proshop staff was very friendly, pace of play was horrible, I was told there was no ranger out there today. It took us five hours and approximately 15 minutes to finish our round. After coming into the clubhouse, we were looking forward to a nice cold beverage. It took over 15 minutes to even get to the front of the line and we were told to pay for our meal & drink right at the same time before we even had our meal, very strange. There was a younger kid behind the bar that didn’t know what he was doing (must have been his first day on the job). I’m glad the Proshop staff helped out during the lunch rush. However, I usually order 2 to 4 beers and I was asked to put them on my check to make it easier for me but I wasn’t sure if I wanted to stay for my 2 to 4 beers. If I wanted another one, I had to not only pay for it separately, but pay without cash. Apparently they won’t accept cash. I have played here quite a few times, and the grass is in horrible conditions, compared to November and December. I used to feel like I got a great bang for my buck but the service is horrible. I see a new face every few weeks either carts or bar staff. Looks like poor management when there is turnover in almost all areas, cart staff, bar staff very frequently. I am not a fan of the heavier side man with glasses; behind the bar and sometimes works in the proshop. Using the phrase “step into my office”. Unsure of his name.

I have played the River Club course for several years. I always liked the layout which gives all levels of golfers a challenge. The condition oh the course had deteriorated over the years leading up to Covid to the point that I had considered not playing it again. The club house and other amenities fell way off. During the past 3 years they have worked hard to reverse the course conditions and the amenities. They still are working and it shows. I believe the average golfer would find it enjoyable, the greens putt true and I good shape. I will be back in the area and will look forward to play this course again.

Course is in rough shape. Greens are a miixture of grass and sand. Fairway lies are 50/50. Needs work. No cart girl, and halfway house closed.

Finished in about 3 hours. Course was Perfect (for us). We're not pros or competitive. Just enjoy hitting the ball (into the water a lot), seeing the wild life, and having the occasional "Did you see that shot"
The course is nice with a some nice (long) par 3's and a few (not too long) par 5's. Some of the par 4's may even have not had water....
It was a great afternoon round. Finished well ahead of the darkness, didn't have to wait for anyone and didn't feel rushed.
We have been here a couple of times but not for a while. We'll definitely go back more often!

The course was in terrible condition and the facilities are badly in need of updating.

Fairways and greens both were very dry had a lot of brown grass. On course bathrooms were dirty.

Pace of play was slow due to the fivesome that was sent out before us. Course was wide open in front of them.

This course has a good layout and ownership has been improving it overtime. Unfortunately, the last several rounds that I played here have been over five hours. My advice would be to avoid the weekend’s At this course.

We quit on the 14 tee after 4 hours and 10 mins. It was a Saturday afternoon so may have contributed to the slow play. The Marshall did nothing that I could see to speed up play and fairness to him they just put too many players on the course - will not play again until they manage the tee sheet and on course better. Again this could have been a one off but feel not worth playing there on the weekends.

we were backed up on every single hole throughout the day, our round took almost 6 hours. on the second hole there were two groups waiting to tee off in front of us. the few groups ahead of us looked to be beginners and they were playing the blue tees and could not keep a pace. we weren't asked once if we would like to play through. decent course layout. course was definitely dried out. some greens had recent repairs which still seemingly needed work. the carts definitely need recalibration for the geo-fence, we got stuck a few times where there was definitely no need. our cart would not let us reverse out and we needed to push it back into its 'allowed' area. unfortunate round really. lucky to have been paired with a good group of people.

Really enjoyed my first time at this course in January so wanted to play it again. It is still a very fun layout and in pretty good condition but the dry weather is starting to take its toll. Couple of the tee boxes were in pretty bad shape (hard to get solid footing) and the greens all had some kind of fertilizer on them although they still rolled reasonably true. Pace of play was good. I had a 12:03 tee time and checked in at the pro shop at 11:35 and they said (your on the tee!). So no warm up this time.

Course is so fun! Layout is very one of a kind.

The course layout is great it needs some work to improve the current conditions.

Tee boxes in poor shape. Many greens had damage. Pace of play always slow here.
