Shame – this place is closed now…
What a shame – this is such a great course and was always well maintained. I took the opportunity to play it on its last day for the last time. There is actually nothing to review about anymore, as nobody will anymore have a chance to play it. But it was nice to play it over the past decades. Thank you course and shame on those all who will destroy it just only to make more money! Good bye …
A shame this course is closing
What a shame this course is closing. Nice layout, good condition, decent pace of play made this an enjoyable round of golf.
Great course
Course was in excellent shape, but the pace of play was slow. Got an excellent rate though.
Play it one last or forget it
Course sold by marriott for big Money. To bad this course has always been one of my favorites when I can play it.
Awful experience for a Marriott club
The pace of play was terrible!! Almost three hours to play 9 holes! Quit after 13 because we had hit the 5 hour mark. We were sent off 20 mins late because of people not showing up on time and we were punished! Called clubhouse to ask if the group in front of us could be sped up because they had almost two holes open infront, were told it would be taken care of however nobody ever came out to say anything. We even played as a 5-some and still waited on every shot! This course is closing soon and it seems to me everyone who works here has already checked out and could careless about making customers happy! The price was way to expensive for the pace of play and the experience! I wouldn't recommend this course even if it was free!
Very impressed
A beautiful course that was in great condition. I will definitely play this course again.
Total course was enjoyable to play.
It was a pleasure to play ,pace was first nine good second nine a bit slower,no marshalls seen!,we were a foursome green and gold tees and red tees .by all shots you have to think where you like to position it.
enjoyable Round
Whenever we stay in Orlando, we play Grande Pines GC. We'll be back next year :-)
Not worth the money
An ok golf course but not worth the $100plus green fees which is charged.
No marshall to keep players moving, bunkers in appalling condition , seems nobody bother to rake them.
Sad Round
Unfortunately the course will be sold 3/31 for residential housing
Sad To See It Go
It was a prototypical central Florida course. Undulating greens, short rough barely grassed fairways. Shot selection (target golf) was important on most holes. Had a couple of grip and rippers too. But what the hey, it was golf in February. The unfortunate thing, however, is the course will be closing March 31, 2015. Just hate to lose another nice course to developers.
Very Nice Course
I was moderately surprised by the top quality of this course. Had been told to play it before it closes on 31 March and it was worth the time and money. It's too bad it's closing. Customer service was great! The greens were big, firm, and fast with sweeping contours. If you missed the green long, left, or right you were going to be in trouble -- fun! The fairways and tee boxes were overseeded and in good condition. A very nice playable course worth the play.
Tough Greens
Large elevated fast greens although smooth and true (dead Bermuda shaved close) with sometimes very subtle slopes were hard to hold and harder to read. i would have to play the course several times to know the breaks. We played with swirling inconsistent winds so club selection became a challenge at times.
Grande Pines
Played the course in just over 4 hours not busy in the morning but picked up in the afternoon. Greens were tuff and fairways were tight but both every nice. bunkers are a challenge, they are pretty deep. It is expensive but a nice course. It's sad that it is being sold to turn in to condos.
Nice course
I really enjoyed this course it was challenging but fair to bad it want be there in 3 weeks.
Challenging course, nice condition
This was a decent course for this time of year. Most fairways were generous enough to get your drive into unles you seriously hooked or sliced. Enough grass in the fairways in most areas to set the ball up a little. Greens were in good shape but challenging with their slopes and speed. The biggest challenge on this course for me was the strategically placed bunkers, both in the fairways and green side. The bunkers easily contributed an additional 10 strokes for me this day!
Course Closing April 1st
Discovered at check-in that course has been sold for development and will close April 1st. Conditions were in decline. Round took 5+ hours to complete - no marshall anywhere. Would not play again. This fact should have been highlighted on Golf Now description.
Grande Pines
Really strong facility, truly awful to learn it's going to be plowed, and made into condos and shopping.
awesome
This was a great course..It rained the night before but the course dried up pretty quick...few challenging holes, lots of bunkers which come into play...Bring your sand game...Quick pace of place and friendly staff.. will repeat when I'm in Orlando again. ..
