Bordering the Indian River, Viera East Golf Club sprawls across a landscape of sparkling blue lakes and native marshland that is accented with towering pines and cypress trees. The well known layout is considered one of the best and most affordable public golf courses in Florida. The course features large, undulating greens that are carefully protected by numerous bunkers and risk-reward opportunities that will challenge even the lowest handicappers. Although the course offers a fairly formidable test, beginners will be comforted by the wide fairways that have ample bailout room. Viera East Golf Club's eighth and ninth holes are a memorable duo, beginning with a short par 4 that is the best birdie opportunity on the course. The ninth is another par 4 with water all along the left and trees along the right. Both holes are made even more challenging with strategic bunkering along the greensides.

We have played this course a number of times this year. It is fairly easy, wide ope and most of the hazards do not come into play. The greens a fantastic, fairways are waiting for the grass to grow. overall very enjoyable.
To dry
To dry, nothing has greened up yet.3/25/25 Greens are ok but need water. Fairways are spotty. Still in winter brown Probably will be a lot nicer once the grass grows. I would give it at least 6 weeks. Friendly staff. The best course now is Duran. Apparently they water more often.

Viera East is my go to place. Pace of play is great as they don't stack the tee times. Additionally, the staff at Viera East have always been friendly and welcoming. Solid value. Can't wait to get back on the course!
Very good overall
Nice layout and nice conditions. Extremely fast greens and in excellent shape. My favorite greens of any on the coast that I’ve played. The entire course could use a lot of water as we are in our dry season which will change shortly. Lots of brown because of lack of rain but course is kept nice and I recommend it.

Winds from 25-40 MPH! Yes, there were some challenging shots!
A couple of very slow groups ahead; waited on every hole but, the course was so nice, I didn't really mind too much. Four hours for 18 isn't terrible, just longer than I'm used to.
The young man in the clubhouse was professional and personable. At one point, he drove out on the course to warn us about a sprinkler head malfunction that was spraying part of one green. It wasn't really a problem for me but, I appreciated the heads up. Nobody was expecting the sprinklers to be on and his explanation pre-empted any misunderstandings.
I've bee aware of this course for some time but this is the first time I played it. I'd love to go back but, unless there's good deal/coupon available, I'm afraid it's beyond my budget. I recommend you play if for yourseld. Oh, BTW, as a super-senior (78) I played the sky blue tees. There are tees for every skill set and ability. Cheers!

we found this course to b fairly easy. wide open fairways, but greens were exceptionally fast. The layout is very good. I especially enjoyed the back nine
