The Natural at Beaver Creek Resort

About
The Natural at Beaver Creek Resort sits along the western shore of Otsego Lake. As its name implies, the course blends seamlessly into the beautiful surroundings. The challenging layout requires accuracy so don't let the scenery distract you too much. Trees line the meandering fairways and water hazards come into play throughout. Strategically placed bunkers lurk along the greensides as well. The front nine is somewhat tight but the back nine spreads out nicely. Before finishing the front nine, golfers will face one of the course's toughest holes, the par-4 eighth. This tricky risk-reward hole has trouble everywhere, including tall pines, two water hazards, and bunkers. You can play it safe with a long iron or 3-wood down the right but you'll be facing an intimidating and long carry over wetlands.

Sadly Course Has Closed
Course closed as it was sold and will no longer be a golf course.
The Natural was Naturally garbage
This course needs some manicuring everywhere… I played the Loon for around the same price and it was night day from a conditions stand point. Very very disappointing to say the least. I wouldn’t recommend nor would I go back unless many upgrades were completed
I wouldn’t come back
The course layout is nice, but the course itself needs some work and needs to be manicured much better. The greens were terrible and long and the fairways were not acceptable and extremely to long.. I wouldn’t come here again
Rest In Peace Jerry Mathews!
I just read that hall of fame golf designer Jerry Mathews passed away last week. My condolences to his family and friends.
Thank you to him for all the fantasic golf he has have given us here in Michigan. Loved this course! I can see why this is considered one of Mr. Mathews “signature” designs. Gorgeous and tough but I would say - not too difficult.
Hole 1 is a tough start with a lay up or tough carry over water decision right out of the gate. Elevated Greens winding through valleys and rolling hills follow after this with some up hill fairways and some down hills throughout. Hole 8 is another brutal lay up or try to carry over the marsh go for it spot. Loved the par 3s - especially 14 and 17 both from elevated tees requiring really accurate distance. Hole 18 is an epic test to again go for it over the wetlands to the small green or lay up. Can’t wait to play this place again!!
Beautiful course
This was a beautiful course, very well-maintained. Very forgiving fairways with trees on both sides, but you need to hit a straight ball or you would always be in the woods. Beautiful clubhouse, with a menu of dogs and hamburgers.. Will definitely return to this course again.
Nice Course
Had a wonderful during the week golf experience. Course was in great shape and few others out today. Overall great experience!
Nice Layout
Good layout, I happened to be there at 3:30 on a Monday and it was DEAD. I never saw another golfer my whole round and only heard a few driver shots here and there
Tight Course
The course was well kept. You have to hit it in the fairways - trees on both sides. You have to play "smart" golf and layup on the marsh holes. Only problem was the greens were wet from dew, and the worms had come up and left little piles of dirt all over.
