Country Club of Hilton Head

About
The Country Club of Hilton Head rambles over a variety of terrain, including rolling, open expanses, pine and oak woodlands and freshwater ponds and marshlands. Each hole is distinctive, as a golfer must negotiate water hazards, contoured fairways, pot bunkers and sculpted bunkers, and grass hollows. This facility features constant elevation tees, landing areas and greens, as well as the only punch bowl-shaped green in the area. The Country Club of Hilton Head layout also features 3 doglegs, undulating and tiered greens and two par-5's that stretch more than 575 yards in length. An excellent, fair test of golf for all skill levels.

Pace of play great 3.75 hours. Pared with nice couple for 12:20 tee time
Beautiful course
CCHH is a very good course. Great layout, good shape. Challenging.
Beautiful Day For Last Vacation Round
What a way to end my vacation, on a beautiful course, on a beautiful spring day,, and shooting my best round of the trip. Considering this is late March, the course was in excellent shape. It is well taken care of. The staff are all very pleasant and helpful. It's starting to get crowded now with vacationers, so the pace was a bit slow, but not too bad. When you ad in taxes, etc. I feel the price is a bit high, but that's Hilton Head on one of the better courses. I'll be back next time I come down here.
Average Course not worth the money or membership
In April, this course is going private. Not worth the private membership to play golf. More other options available in the area for less the price.
Hilton Head CC
Great course and conditions. Staff was great. Play was a little slow but not terrible. Got done at 3:00 and could not find a place to have a beer and lunch.
Good greens/tees, bad fairways
Pros: very nice cart staff and starter, tee boxes and greens in good shape. Liked the layout and some challenging holes.
Cons: pro shop staff made bad first impression. Made a point of telling me I shouldn't have gotten discount fee ( I paid $110 for each of us), but would honor it. Then told me the course was going private 4/1. Fairways in pretty bad shape hardly any grass coverage. Should have been happywe played there at all.
It's too bad my son and I first visit to HHI. Doesn't make you feel welcome. Luckily, all the other staff were very nice to us.
great Golf course
One course must be played while in Hilton Head for sure. Great layout and high quality maintenance of the course will make a very pleased day round of golf. The cart path needs some work...
thank you!
Pure ..
T to green was dialed in. Tee box overseeded and tight. Fairway fast and firm. Great roll out. Greens all 18 consistent speed and pure roll. No blemishes. Bunkers ..raked and manicured. Food was great. Beverage cart seen multiple times. Windy 10 to 15 plus. Played long but fair.
Great golf course!
We enjoyed the course layout and overall quality. Grate greens protected by numerous bunkers. We had strong winds today and it was more difficult but interesting.
Not what I expected
Not at all what I expected given the reviews I had read. Played with a couple of very nice guys that said they played in the men’s club a few times per week.
Thanks to my playing partners I had an enjoyable day. The course itself left little to rave about to be honest. Conditions were so-so at best and the recent rains left the course beaten up due to many areas with poor drainage. Greens were ok but with too many unrepaired ball marks.
My playing partners apologized saying conditions had been in decline over the years and budget restrictions didn’t allow for many necessary repairs to be completed.
Overall i would rate this as a mediocre public course. “Country Club” not so much....
