Ravines Golf Club is southwest Michigan's first Arnold Palmer signature course. The course is situated three hours outside of Detroit in Saugatuck. Thanks to wide fairways and generous landing areas, the layout is not as tough as it seems but it does have plenty of challenges in store. Strategically placed bunkers, mature trees, and wetlands all come into play throughout. There are some challenging holes on the front half, including the sixth and seventh, but the back nine opens with the golf course's toughest hole. The ninth is a long and difficult par 5 dogleg left where trees, water, and bunkers come into play. Ravines Golf Club's signature hole, though, is the par-3 17th, known for both its scenery and level of difficulty. This hole requires a risky shot over a ravine to one of the golf course's largest putting surfaces.

Beautiful layout. Typical Arnold Palmer. Big fairways, tees for every player. Wonderful greens with challenging slopes for putting. Really lovely golf course. Terrific value. I will be back often. The dining is not great. I would not eat there. Go into Sagatuck for dining. It is very close by. Patrick Nolan

Counter staff were unfriendly. No starter which resulted in no control of the first tee or pace of play. Course was not in good conditions. Took us 1 hour to play the first 2 holes. Did not finish round due to pace of play.

Ravines is always a nice treat to play.
I thought the conditions of the course were a little rough compared to other times I have played.

Don’t wait

My only regret is not getting to this course sooner. Fairways and greens are pure. Design is challenging yet forgiving if you play smart shots. There are plenty of bailout spots if you’re bombing it off the tee but shouldn’t need to from the blue tees.

Great course, very disappointing experience

Was very excited to play one of the signature Michigan courses. Drove 2 hours and spent more than I’d like to play here. When we showed up, we were informed they had three separate leagues all playing at the same time and because of this we would have to play the front 9 holes two times instead of playing a full 18 holes. When we went to play the front nine a second time, we got stuck behind two groups of 8somes who most of whom had very obviously not played golf before. The clubhouse was no help. The course itself is admittedly very nice. Regardless - save your gas, save your money, and play your local course.

Splendid Nine Holes

Front nine was flawless as the summer lush vegetation was in full bloom. Carpet fairways with perfectly manicured greens. Excellent experience.

Western Michigan gem

This was our first visit to this Arnold Palmer designed course. There are a number of forced carries due to the ravines that crisscross the property. The sight lines are gorgeous. The course conditions were excellent. The staff could not be nicer.
