Kiva Dunes Golf Course

We were behind two foursomes that were there for a batchelor party. The Marshall’s talked to the a couple of times but what are you going to do. Course was a fun setup. Disappointing that you can’t see the ocean, but you can hear it on the back 9. I will play this again the next time I’m in Gulf Shores. Good track for the money.

The staff were fantastic. The course was pretty. The practice area was good. Pace of play wasn’t that good. Every hole we had to wait 10-15 minutes to tee off every time. The group in front of us wasn’t the problem. They were waiting to tee off too. Kinda messed up a persons rhythm especially when it’s chilly out. The other thing is there is there’s “no Turn” on the course to get food. We could order hotdogs and fries but idk if it would even be warm when it was delivered. But there were sandwiches the golf cart lady said. So get your food before….

Couple areas for consideration: player assistance to keep play from falling behind. Two gentleman lacking common golf etiquette bog play down. Hitting two balls, playing a distance very difficult for them, and waiting so long on the tee before hitting even when others in front were approaching the green. With the wind and their skill level, not close to a concern. The other area was the friendliness of clubhouse staff on check in. To be blunt, we felt they could have cared less if we were there. Perhaps a bit harsh but that’s how I felt. Very unexpected as I am a member of a top 100 golf club and a marshal.

Great course and fantastic customer service. From bag drop to the restaurant after Kiva Dunes is an absolute gem. Course can be challenging in the wind but overall playable for any handicap. Great time and better workers.

The people at Kiva are fantastic, and its clear the super is doing great work to keep the course in top shape.

My only gripe is the layout of the course feels very compact and very monotone. A few challenging holes, but fairly basic overall.

Great option if you’re staying in Gulf Shores.

We played Kiva Dunes this week on vacation. It was a challenging course with a beautiful layout. Good for mid to high handicap players like myself and challenging to my husband as well who is lower handicap player. A nicely maintained course with fast greens. Don’t miss this course if you come to play in Gulf shores!

Course was in excellent condition, particularly given the amount of play. Unfortunately, the pace of play was slow. We waited on nearly every shot beginning on the third hole. Didn’t see any marshals on the back 9. Can’t say whether anything was done to address the issue but something should have been.

Staff was terrific. Friendly and professional.

All in, I would recommend this course.

Arrived early today for breakfast and enjoyed the meal and the service of our waitress. Shopped around the wide selection of the Pro Shop for a souvenir shirt and really enjoyed the golf experience and the course attendants.
Hope to return again.

Always great. Drinks are too high….

My wife and I always stay on the east end of Perdido Key when visiting Orange Beach, so it was a 38 minute drive for me. I played Kiva a few years ago and thought I would try it again. Wise choice! They put me with another single and we smoked around the course! Really great experience!! Going back in two days!! Thank you to all the staff!!
