Rancho Mirage Country Club

About
This course sits at the intersection of two of the most famous roads in Palm Springs: Bob Hope Drive and Frank Sinatra Drive. Yet, it's one of the better kept secrets in the golf scene. Rancho Mirage Country Club in Ranch Mirage is a semi-private club available to outside play through stay & play packages so it does not do a lot of publicity.
There are 10 lakes, tons of palm trees and the snow-capped San Jacinto Mountains to catch your eyes. The course itself is largely flat and inviting for the average hacker. It measures only 6,111 yards from the back tees. But its 122-slope rating is a little deceivingly given how small many of the greens are. It still takes good shots to post a good number at Rancho Mirage.
There are also lighted tennis courts at the complex, allowing golfers to make a day & night of it, if they wish.

Try it once
Last minute great deal on golfnow for $ 10.00. I thought I would try it to experience additional courses in the valley.
I'm sure at one time it was probably a nice tight track. Overall conditions were very dried out both in the fairway and greens. Some greens did not really have grass to putt on.shots that came in high would still carry through the greens.
Bunker sand was average att best. Very hard dry sand.
The course is mature and scenic, not bad but not worth playing again. There are too many other choices worth playing.
A short course but in good shape
It's a nice little course (6110 yards). I teed off at 6:45 AM on Saturday morning and was done by 9:45. The course is in good shape, and the greens play fairly true. The sand traps felt more like clay than sand, but that might be due to watering. There were a handful of scenic holes--an "island" par 3 in the front 9 was short (115 yd.) but challenging (narrow green that has a bunker behind it). The 10th hole is a bit tricky--it requires a big slice/fade to reach the bending fairway. The 18th hole is short (315 yd), but the water comes into play, you're better off laying up (225 to the water from the tee) than pulling out the driver. All in all, this was a nice par 70 course. I will play there again.

Thank you for the feedback. We are glad you enjoyed your round. Sorry about the sand traps, we will address this ASAP. See you soon!
Course condition
California drought conditions has not effected the condition of this course staff have kept it in good shape

Thank you for the review! We pride ourselves on our course conditions and we try and keep the same conditions year round. Please come see us again!
Affordable Gem
Always a delight, fun course and well worth the money. Old school course that can challenge most, many newer courses do not have this kind of personality. Go enjoy.

Thank you for playing Rancho Mirage CC! We are an old country club style course. We are glad you enjoyed your round. Come back and see us soon!
Insanely narrow for big hitters
Great time, this course is empty this time of year. The trees will swallow golf balls sometimes because they are older. Make sure you just keep the ball in play.

Thank you for the review. In order to score well at Rancho Mirage CC you have to hit the ball straight, not necessarily long! Come back and see us!
Nice track
Played 18 in <3 hrs with my wife. Paid the off season rate, so it was great value. The Fairways and greens were in fine shape. It was in better shape than the Westin's Pete Dye course that we played today for considerably more money.

Thank you for the feedback! We pride ourselves on our course conditions and are glad you thought the course was in great shape. Come back and see us again soon!
Good times
For the buck it's hard to beat, pace was very good and staff were awesome
Excellent value, class operation
I booked a Tuesday 11 am tee time but got there early. They put me in an hour early with no problem. Staff was friendly and the place was absolutely beautiful and in great shape. This is a course that is not the longest, but it presents fair challenges that require you to grab the correct club and execute. My daughter took a job in Palm Springs recently, and even with the wealth of quality golf venues here, I know I will return. An excellent deal at $30!
Weather or Not
Mid-May and temps in the 80s? Great day to play golf. Course was in good shape and a twosome got around in just over three and a half hours. A little long for a short hitting old man, but the course has visual appeal. May have to play it again before leaving for home.
No Waiting!
It was wonderful to play a course as nice as this one and to not have to wait for slow players ahead of you. Beautifully maintained course and friendly staff. We will definitely seek to play this course when returning to the Palm Springs area.
Some testing holes on a tidy course
Sailed round the course in 2.5hrs on my own, (seemed like mainly local players on the course and all were very friendly and let me play through), really enjoyed the challenge from the back tee's, making some of the holes long and testing. With several tee's to choose from ALL level of golfers would enjoy this course
Good value and quick round
This course is very easy to play in under 3 hours. It's moderate difficulty with a bit of everything. Greens putt well. Enjoyable round and great value.
Played for Hot Deal price of $10
At $10 it was ok. At $11it would be a toss-up. At $12 I would pass. The course is in poor shape. Especially the traps. The are essentially moisture packed mud. The greens are also getting spotty. If you want an ice chest on the cart to cool a drink or even water which is usually a necessity here in the desert, you have to pay for it in the restaurant by purchasing two drinks ($7). At $10 you get what you pay for.
Great Course! Thanks
Not sure of the type of Fur trees that line some of the fairways; but they will not return your golf ball!
I know, your not supposed to hit into the trees...
Nice course, greens are quick and I had the course to myself... Awesome! Thank you for the discounted fee!
I look forward to playing again!
Great Day, Uncrowded course
Not sure if the attendance on this course is always so scant - we only saw 2 other foursomes on the day we played. Finished the round in 3 1/2 hours! Friendly, capable staff. Didn't eat or drink anything and there was no drink cart. My only gripe was that some of the bunkers were hard, and could have used some sand. Otherwise, a great experience.
Nice long , fairly challenging holes.
Course was in good condition, driving range w balls to warm up, lots of shade for parking car! Very good price through Golf Now, great weather in May, and
not crowded! One of my favorite courses!
nice course good pace
Played with my Father in law we were paired up with another couple. The pace was great finished in less than 4 hours the greens were pretty hard but the ball rolled fairly not super speedy just hard to land and keep from rolling off
What a Joy to play
Wow this is a great course! Not the hardest or the longest but for our mixed 4 just perfect. Our Ladies loved it! Very unique lay out but so very interesting. Not the longest course but as Bing and Bob liked to boast "It went straight down the middle" and that's where it has to be if you want results because its tight!. Great course, cant wait to return.
One of my favorites in the Palms
Rancho Mirage is one of my favorite courses to play when i am in Palm Springs Area this is a fun layout with a good degree of challange on several of the holes, the value is good for a fun day of Golf the only thing that needs attn is some of the Bunkers needed more sand other than that the couse is in great shape always fun!!!
Thank you for you feedback. We are glad that you came out to give the course a try. It has been hard for us to keep the course from drying out with the way the weather has been lately. Thanks for coming out.
