Good Course for the Price
Really enjoyed the round here, staff was friendly and helpful. Overall a good value for the money.
South Carolina was hit with unseasonably cold weather this past winter causing some issues with some of the greens. They are currently doing some construction to replace sprinklers and various upgrades. If your looking for a round of golf at a good price you will enjoy the round.
Greens improved on Back 9
Nice layout and vibe. Some greens on front 9 were a bit rough but greens on the back 9 were much better. Good value for the money
3 hours to play 9
3 hours to play 9 holes. Only three greens were puttable. Made the turn at 430 and the club house was closed.
Course is good but the Green where bumpy
Quality of the fairway was good but the Green was bumpy on the first nine but better on the second nine.
Greens and slow
I played after a storm so ninety degrees rule due to wet fairways. this slows the pace of play almost as much as cart path only. The greens need work, due to weed infestation.
A million dollar renovation is in the works, maybe a couple of years before my next round.
Whispering Pines
This course is a good value for Myrtle Beach. Some of the greens were in bad condition. I understand the course will close to redo greens and remove some trees. For the price I would play here again.
Greens Need Work
The first 6 greens were very bumpy, the grass was intermittent. The last 12 holes were ok, but didn't make up for the first 6
Nice course but needs repairs
Course was in decent condition but first four greens were in rough and bumpy shape. Apparently the course will be closed later in year to redo greens and other areas.
Worst greens ever
The practice green was in horrible shape but, the greens on the course got better as we got closer to the 18th green
Greens
The greens were pretty bad fairways were nice and we had a bunch of slow players in front of us and players behind us hitting up on us knowing full well that we had to wait almost every shot. It got pretty frustrating after a few holes with slow players and then getting hit up on constantly.
Awful greens
Upon arrival we checked in at the Pro Shop which appeared moderately stocked. Check in went seamlessly. Once outside we were greeted by the starter who was very friendly at which time we were informed about the condition of the greens. The starter told us that the greens were damaged after an u expected and rare snowfall in January. Apparently the grass on the greens was killed and a weed grew in its place. The starter indicated that 4 of 18 greens were affected but we found every green to be in very poor shape. This would have been nice to know when booking the round as it was prepaid so we had no chance of cancelling and getting our money back.
Most of the fairways were not much better as many had bare patches. This course could use some TLC and the price should reflect its current condition.
I would not recommend playing until some care has been provided to the greens and the fairways.
