Not the worst, not the best
First time playing this course, and after reading the reviews I had fairly high expectations. While it didn't meet those expectations, it was a nice experience.
The good:
Course has a fantastic layout. The physical layout of the golf holes is one of the best I've played. Long par 5's, challenging doglegs with perfectly placed trees that offer those risk/reward shots. Price was good, and the place of play was fantastic (4 hours for 18) even being teed off directly behind others at a 9am tee time.
The bad:
Course conditions left a lot to be desired. Huge patches of dead, concrete dirt/grass all over the course both on the fairway and in the rough. Other patches of standing water in the center of a fairway. While it wasn't even hole, I often found myself having to move my ball onto grass because my tee shot found the fairway but was in a patch of extremely hard dirt. Greens wearnt terrible, but the grass was quite long so it made the putting experience more of hit it close and pick it up because you had to mallot it up there just ro get it to the hole.
Overall, the experience was good for the price. It they were to do some work and get the conditions back to where it should be, the layout would provide some of the best golf in the area.
Whispering Pines
The ancient couple playing in front of us made our 1st 9 painful but they left and then we had a great back 9.
Good, but not great
Course was in okay condition overall. Greens were probably a 5/10. Fairways are in mostly good condition, but there’s so many unplayable areas that are just off the fairways / greens that it makes for a long day unless your shots are perfect. Pace of play was abysmal. Playing solo and had to start on the back, but still ended up being stuck waiting for 10-15 minutes on every hole. Layout was fun and overall I enjoyed this course, but I’d like to see it for all it could be.
Great way to spend a vacation day
First time visit to the area. I was able to get on the course swiftly and played without being pushed out held up. Nice tight course for a great challenge but spaced out at the tee boxes for a competitive round of golf with others with different abilities. Would definitely put this course on my to do list moving forward.
Played twice in one week.
Played here 2 days ago. Couldn’t beat the price and pace of play. I was on vacation from PA and after reading the reviews of other courses it sounded like they would pair up solo or 2 somes to make a 4. I’m recovering from knee surgery and didn’t want to be paired up, given I didn’t know how I’d hit em. Both times I played at 330-4pm and played solo with a quick pace of play. Overall course is good and good bang for buck in Myrtle beach SC.
Good bang for your buck
It’s Mrytle Beach SC, I was impressed to find a course around $50 to play 18 w/ cart. Course is decent, a few greens had some areas on the green that needed some TLC. Fairways are decent. Tee boxes need some attention but are not horrible… Other than that I was pleased.
the foresome before us was too slow. Staff must go on the course. It took 5 hours to play.
Warm up round
Good Golf Course at a Great Price ,across from the airport! Exactly what We were Looking for! Friendly Staff ! Was an AirForce Course, had a Nice sign on every hole Honoring Air Force Legends !
Not Bad
Pretty nice course. Clearly popular with the locals. Fairways nice. Tee bows average. A few of the greens are still recovering but overall. Not bad.
