Wolf Creek Golf Club

About
For golfers who want real desert, making the 80-minute drive from Sin City's high-tech neon to Mesquite's low-tech neon is a road to travel.
For in Mesquite, there's not just old ladies at old-time slots. There's Wolf Creek Golf Club, an exceeding tough golf course where you might just run into a real-life road runner. This course features true desert canyons and all the wildlife that scampers across them.
The second tee box is 11 stories up. That's right, 11 stories up. Fantastic vision was encouraged at this Arnold Palmer design with helicopters being used to cart some of the rocks around and build higher holes. The bunkers are filled with crushed granite, providing another unique playing experience.
Wolf Creek was built to put Mesquite golf on the map. It succeeded.

What a treat
Teed off at 11 on a beautiful, but slightly warm day. Every hole is unique and challenging in it's own way. A stray tee shots are penalized, but a good tee shots will reward you with an easy shot on to the green. There are many burial grounds for prov1s so choose your weapon wisely. The greens were also tricky as they were fairly fast with very subtle breaks. This course would be even better with gps units on carts or even an alternative caddie service. Overall, an excellent course.
Stunning!
I am 64 years old and I have been golfing for many many years. I will say, without hesitation, that this was truly one of the greatest golfing experiences of my life. This course is unreal! The elevated tee boxes alone are incredible. And, with it being so high up, you feel like Superman when you hit your tee shot, as it just seems to stay in the air forever! I'm sure all the other reviews on here are similar to mine. The course itself was challenging, but if you play the appropriate tees, it's definitely scorable. One of the guys of our group shot a 78 (which was his best score ever). It truly should be on your "bucket list" of courses to play. The only negative thing I have to say about the course is that their driving range is only about 210 yards long. So realistically, most people can't hit a driver. But that did not influence my decision to give it 5 stars. Yes, this course it expensive to play...no doubt. But, there is no other course like it that I know of. Just spectacular views from every tee box. Stunning! Would definitely play again if I am ever in the area.
Wolf Creek Review
An iconic course with less than ideal driving range (irons only).Really disappointing! Course was In good shape but greens were much slower than they should be even with the hot temps. It is unacceptable to have any course rolling less than 10 on the stimp in any environment! Ultimately the difference between a good green keep and a great greenskeeper!
Visually Stunning
One of the most visually stunning courses you will ever see. Pulling in, the driving range is trash and the equipment sitting all over the parking lot make this feel like you are in the wrong place. Then you get to the first tee box and it's wow. Kind of like playing a round on Mars. Lots of cool and challenging holes and shots. The greens were insanely furry this time I played it. They weren't like that the last time I had played it. Definitely a must play if you are in the Vegas area and want to take a little drive across the desert. The price is very fair for what it is. The only hole that doesn't belong in my opinion is #10. Otherwise it is 17 really great holes.
Love the course and the uniqueness it brings through the challenging lay out. The only issue was at the snack bar, when we arrived, and ordered the lunch, the attendant took her time and had to make our orders 1 at a time which took over 20 minutes for the 4 of us to receive our hot dogs/sandwiches and Gatorade with cup of ice. She was very friendly but lacked efficiency.
Unreal views great layout
This course has to be played to believe. You would think it is a video game. Elevation changes on every hole. Just a must play bucket list course. About 80 miles north of Vegas we come once a year just to play this course.
Mountain Goat
Beautiful views but for me a first time player at Wolf Creek it was a bit to hilly. The gas golf carts where an E ride using Disneyland termanology. Far to many steeple hill grades. However the fairway and greens are in great shape. I don't think I'll come back but everyone should play this course and make their own determination.
Reward yourself!
This course will take 5 hrs to play if crowded! But let me tell you absolutely magnificent, there is no holes on this course that you will say are average. Every hole is elevated and the backdrop or scenery is breath taking. You will want to take several pictures. One of the most fantastic courses I have ever played!
Amazing Course
The golf course was awesome. I Definitely recommended it!!!
Great course
Course was in great shape, staff was very friendly and great with letting you know how the course is playing and how the tees compare to an average course, since almost every tee box is elevated. Quite a few holes are less than driver off the tee if you hit it long, or you have a very small landing window with driver. Amazing views, good layout with a good amount of risk reward shots.
Wolf Creek Great Layout !
Positive
Great layout, beautiful challenging and fun !
Great restaurant! Had lunch, enjoyed the bar.
Negatives
Greens were in the worst condition of any course I have played in years. For 135$ a round I expect more. Yes they punch the greens about a week prior using quarter size punchholes ( crazy big ! ) sand covered but the worst part was the deep groves they rake across the greens made a horrible bumpy experience. Ruined the positives
I'm a local nevada resident- no discount and no discount for punched greens ( many course provide a break before and after airiation
Course brown in alot of places, needs more water. If you look at the rates 135$ is the least expensive.
Had a fantastic round
The course was awesome, as I expected it to be. But, the really impressive part of our day was the interaction with your staff.
All were friendly, clear in their description of the course and what to be aware of, as well as what was expected of us.
It was a great day in every aspect.

Super challenging greens and elevation changes
I thoroughly enjoyed playing the course. It is so different and aesthetically beautiful. You rarely get a level lie so it offers a lot of non standard shot making. The greens are fast but the real challenge is having so many downhill putts. You need to try and stay below the pins at if all possible.
Also while the desire might be to play further back tees it is so challenging for the average player that you will have a much better experience if you keep your expectations a bit lower and move up a box. Your legs and back will thank you. !
Great course and very friendly staff throughout the facility. Really enjoyed a memorable trip out here!
Great layout
Desert target golf with many elevation changes. Scenic. Fun round. Worth the 1.5 hour drive from Vegas. Will be back.
