Cypress Point Country Club

About
Cypress Point Country Club is conveniently located within minutes of the Norfolk International Airport and the Virginia Beach Town Center. Despite its accessibility, the golf course feels peacefully isolated, making it a great choice for golfers who are looking for the convenience of a city course with the pace and beauty of the countryside. It's a layout that is as challenging as it is scenic with strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides and fairways. The occasional water hazard also comes into play. The golf course will challenge players of all skill levels but it's not overly punishing for high handicappers. Beginners will still be able to enjoy a round at Cypress Point Country Club. Besides the course, the club is also popular for its practice facility, which has a driving range and chipping and putting greens.

I enjoyed the course. Then a couple of other singles and we had a nice round. They just aerated the course so putting was a challenge but overall of course was a good shape. Had some challenging holes and I enjoyed it.
Felt rushed, great course though.
Tee times were stacked on top of each other, booked for 2 so wife and I could play a round. They grouped us up last minute with another duo as we were walking to the tee. But the entire 18 we were waiting on the group in front of us who was waiting on the group in front of them and constantly had the group behind us waiting as well it was a perpetual “hurry up and wait”. Definitely not going back on a Friday or weekend. I’ll try again during the week when it’s hopefully not sardines for tee times.
Otherwise the course is gorgeous. Slopes, bends, water hazards all blended really well for a fun yet moderately challenging course.
Greens just aerated
The greens were just aerated and awful. The clubhouse could have announced this or had a sign up letting players know. I know the importance of aerating, but that does not mean they have to charge full price when the course is basically getting spruced up for the coming warm season.
Cypress Point
This was my first round of the year, being that it was early Spring, I won’t be too harsh on the course conditions. The staff in the pro shop were very friendly. Although I had little interaction with them because I purchased my round online. The practice putting green was fairly large and was in great shape. I did not take advantage of the driving range though it was being used extensively. On this particular round, I was paired up with another single.. an older gentleman whom intended on using the forward white tees which wasn’t a big deal. The course itself looked as if it needed watering. Much of the fairways were brown. The rough wasn’t too terrible. The tee boxes were in decent shape though they could use some TLC. Again, I must reiterate that this was early Spring so I am confident that the course conditions will improve. Overall, I enjoyed my round as Cypress Point and look forward to see and play it again while it’s in pristine condition later in the summer..
What a great course!
I was traveling for work and got a chance to play this awesome course. I used their complementary set of clubs and they were great, TM Driver and Nike Woods, the irons were some CB Nicklaus and Vokey wedges to top it off! Unfortunately the greens were just punched so the putting was more of a wishful hope... The course conditions were great with some narrow fairways and a little bit of water. Great par 3 17 and a short par 4 16 with a good mix of par 5s 4s. It plays about 6600 from the blues and it is definitely a great place to play. I will be coming back in the future! To the staff thank you for the hospitality!
Cypress Point
This was my first time playing at Cypress Point. I came here from reading previous reviews and from recommendations of friends. Being that it is early in the season, I can’t be too critical of course conditions. The fairways could use watering. The greens had just been aerated so it’s playing much slower than normally I suspect. The course layout is challenging but still makes it accessible for beginners at the forward tees. The employees at the clubhouse were very courteous and professional. Overall my experience was a pleasant one. I am looking forward to play this venue again later in the year to see how course conditions improved.
Always Good
It was cart path only today but the course looks to be in good shape even though there has been much rain and snow. I always enjoy playing here.
Great off season round
Played in under 4 hours. Weather has been spotty so the greens were shaggy but overall things were good. Definitely one I would play again.
Winter conditions
Course is in good condition for winter. Greens very slow.
Enjojed our outing. Get out and play!
Nice course
Staff are great, love course layout one of my favorites in the area. Driving range gets a lot of use and needs grass maybe mats would help
In rotation to give grass time to heal. I know nobody likes hitting off mats. Would totally recommend this course!
Beautiful and upkept course
Would recommend going back over and over. The price is worth it for how nice the course is.
Nice coarse
Late November conditions were good friendly staff moved right along good layout
Great Veterans Day round
Virginia Beach has been unusually dry this fall but received some rain the night before which softened up the greens. Course played well considering how dry it has been.
