Trilogy Golf Club at La Quinta

About
Located in the eastern half of Coachella Valley, Trilogy Golf Club at La Quinta (formerly known as "Coral Mountain Golf Club" and "The Golf Club at La Quinta") has a scenic desert landscape that showcases the beauty of southern California. Opened in 2002, the club hosted the PGA Tour LG SKINS from 2003 to 2006, testing the skills of pros like Phil Mickelson, Fred Couples, and Tiger Woods. The golf course is situated at the base of the Santa Rosa Mountains, offering scenic views and a hilly terrain that provides interesting undulations in the greens. The rugged desert is accented by lush oases of dramatic water features, which of course serve as challenging hazards. There are also bunkers bordering the fairways and rolling greens. The golf course can be as challenging or as gentle as you like with several tees available, including the SKINS tees, which play at nearly 7,200 yards.

Course was great! My only complaint is that Golf Pass / Golf Now website charged me $100 deposit. Rate was $125 per person. When I got to course my buddies had already checked in and been told it was $100 per person. So I got to pay $200 or go after after my buddies for the extra $25.
Pristine and quiet
Course is 10/10 condition in all aspects. Greens are firm and fast, fairways and bunkers all excellent shape. I don’t drink or eat much on the course so no restaurant or beverage cart was no issue but be advised it’s BYO everything.
Trilogy is back
The once great Trilogy Course in La Quinta is back & ready to go. Last time I played this it was still Coral Mountain & I loved it back then but I am very happy to report its back & looking gorgeous. The place is still working on a few things like having a Pro Shop & Any kind of F&B but the course is prime. I know after playing with a homeowner out there that the carts will soon have GPS & the F&B will be open in late April before the summer heat arrives.
Amazing how everything along the 10fwy was gusting winds but it was very calm & warm out there today. I highly recommend it if you can snag a good price.
Not quite up to speed, but good.
We’ve played this course several times over the years, before it was shut down over legal issues. Since its reopening we’ve wanted to go back and finally got the chance.
First-the good. I would give it 4 stars on course condition. It’s better than most, not as immaculate as some. Greens were very fast and hard-difficult to hold and did not break like you thought. Bunkers were great-new soft sand, and several seemed smaller than before the redo.
Range is really nice with new balls. They have you hit off grass a couple days a week and off mats the rest of the time. I think their pricing to use the range is great, and the chipping practice green with its practice bunker was one of my favorite things. A few more flags on the range would be nice.
Now the not so good…..there is no pro shop. Not open yet, even though when I visited 5 weeks ago it was supposed to be open “any day.” There is no restaurant, which is unfortunate, but it also means there is no beverage cart because they don’t have a food or liquor license. So bring your own Diet Cokes and snacks.
Finally, their pricing is on the high side, perhaps to protect the owners who have waited so long for it to reopen. There’s lots of good golf around Palm Springs and while I do really like this course, it’s now crept into the price category of lots of other courses that have similar or better conditions, and who have amenities.
And to the foursome who went around several groups, only to jam themselves in front of us at 17, and hold us up, you’re a dick. We played in 4:15 on a windy day.
Fun Course
Course was in great shape - some challenging holes
Overall condition very good. Fairways and greens tight as the course just reopened from what I understood. Very generous fairways and greens that roll around 12, especially if above the hole. Will definately come back..
Beautiful and well kept course.
Nice open fairways. Fun to play. Great condition. Will be even better when there are amenities. I thought they should have had a beverage cart at least.
Immaculate
The course is currently going through some renovations in the clubhouse, but they grounds were near perfect, and the greens roll absolutely true.
Well conditioned boring golf course
Felt like the noted yardage on the scorecard was exaggerated, from the blue tees we mostly had small clubs in our hands for approach shots. Course conditioning was fantastic, greens were all the same speed but not as quick as the big practice putting green. No food/beverage as the club house is not done yet. Hitting off mats in perfect weather not ideal, not sure why they made that decision. I would play it again, maybe move back a few tees.
Awesome
No off-course amenities as the new club house is not open. Bring your own food and drink!!
