Barn Hollow at Hawk's View Golf Club

About
Hawk's View Golf Club offers two 18-hole courses. Como Crossings is the only championship course with a 5-star rating in Lake Geneva and the other course, Barn Hollow is a unique short game course. Both combine traditional elements with a diverse landscape featuring plenty of elevation changes, mature trees, lakes, and wetlands. Barn Hollow was designed with all skill levels and players in mind. It is gentle enough for beginners and even junior players but it will still give low handicappers a good opportunity to sharpen their short game skills. Like the championship course, water comes into play on seven holes. The golf course can usually be walked in less than three hours, making it a great option if you want to squeeze in a round before or after work or whenever you have a spare moment.

Fun and friendly
Always enjoy golfing here! Well kept and friendly staff!
Always in great shape!
I love this course mostly because I struggle with my short game, but also because of the family friendly environment!
One of my favorite gems outside of Chicago
Played this for the first time, played Sand Valley last week, I would rather play Hawk's View than SV, the cart helps that. Amazing course all around, GPS in cart, friendly staff, good range, nice putting green. Can't wait to get back. And the cart gal was a sweetheart.
Hawk's View GC (Barn Hollow) - Surprisingly Good Short Course
The Good: Hawk’s View in Lake Geneva, WI is best known for its gorgeous Como Crossing regulation course, but I was pleasantly surprised with the beauty, variety & conditioning of their Par 3 course, Barn Hollow. Ranging from 106 to 215 yards, this short course has great variety in design and can be very demanding, particularly in the wind. Just a short walk from the nice clubhouse, the course conditions were excellent and the greens putt fairly well considering I played in mid-March. Excellent value at $15 to walk 18-holes.
The Bad: Limited service considering 1) it’s a short course and 2) it was in the midst of social distancing during Covid-19. Not much elevation changes except for the 9th hole.
The Verdict: While Barn Hollow doesn’t quite have the scenic views of its regulation-sized sibling, it’s one of the better conditioned and fun short courses that I’ve played in the greater Chicago/southern Wisconsin area. Well-worth the trip if you only have a couple hours or if you want a warm-up before you tackle the main course.
Best Hole: The 9th on Barn Hollow is the standout. A 200-yard, downhill Par-3 that must navigate water left and considerable wind since it’s the highest point on the course.
Early Season Favorite
I really enjoy playing this course early in the season as a way to get my short game back on track. Course is in good condition early on and areas around the green are good preparation for golfers of any skill level. Add in the early season wind and you have a course that is an absolute blast to play. Clubhouse staff is always friendly and efficient, and while I haven't utilized the bar area, it seems well set up. This Par 3 would be a great warm up for anyone beginning a trip in the Lake Geneva region, or as a second round to a day. Other course at this property, Como Crossing is nice also!
Fun time
Nice fun course especially if you are not a frequent golfer.
Dont be fooled by it being a "par 3" it is awesome.
This course is top notch. I have never played a par 3 anywhere near the shape this course is in. Greens are perfect and fast. The course will require you to bring more than a normal par 3 course. I suggest wedge all the way to 3 wood ( #16 is 227 and plays longer). This is a great family course or a great course to go play with buddies since there lots of "gaming" possibilities. If the LG area and need to get a quick round in this is the place get around on a cart in under 2 hrs and walking prolly takes about 2 and a half. Dont forgot to play como crossings at hawksview top course in Lake Geneva. And home to a to die for fish fry.
Pristine shape, fun and quick.
The staff here was awesome in helping me in every way with rental clubs, balls, etc. The course is in pristine condition, and has plenty of variety to keep your interest. Best par 3 course I've ever played (of course I can't get on Augusta). My timing was perfect as I played it after all the regulars, and zipped around 18 in 1.5 hrs. Best part of my trip to the Lake Geneva area!
Great place!
I love Hawks View both Barn Hollow & Como Crossing! Ross
Great short game course
Great course and wonderful and helpful staff. Highly recommend
18 holes at Barn Hollow
Great! Course was in great shape. West fast. No complaints. We'll go again.
Par 3 Golf Course
Be careful when you book this. Make sure you want a par 3 golf course. I inadvertently booked this meaning to book the other course. I tried to call over night and did not receive a call back until after the round was over. When I explained the error to the clerk at the check out, no attempt was made to rectify. I was offered only one option of paying $85 per person to play the other course. No credit for what I had paid or even a reduced price was offered. I played the par 3 course as booked, but really was not happy with customer service or any satisfactory offer that could have changed my view. We drove over one hour each way to play here and I was very disappointed.
Fun yet challenging!
As a first year golfer I love comig to this course because it offers some challenging par 3 holes!
Par 3
Course was in spectacular shape. Playing only par 3's did get a bit tedious, but overall a fun time on a great course for a nice price.
quick morning
Had a 650 tee time and was really fast. Hole length varied really nicely for a par 3 course. And lots of sand and water hazards but really weren't in tough spots unless you hit a really bad shot.
Nice par 3 course
Played this as a tune up/practice round for a bigger course later in the day. It is a cute little course that is perfect for short game practice as well as a perfect course for families, kids, seniors, or any novice golfer just starting to learn the game. The condition of the course was very good and we truly enjoyed playing here.
didnt get to play the whole course due to rain. cant wait to try again
golf course looked like a fun course to play. I was rained out twice so it hard to give an accureate review.
cant wait to go back to try again.
Barn Hollow: Very Nice Par 3 Course

Great par 3 course. Well maintained. Greens challenging.
