Stonecreek Golf Club

About
The course is set on a 165-acre parcel off Hwy. 213 in Oregon City. Built at an estimated cost of $7.5 million, it features two distinct nines - the front half situated in a meadow-like setting and the back nine winding through towering Douglas fir trees and bordering wetlands. In addition to its namesake Stone Creek, the course has three lakes, four wetlands areas and 41 bunkers. There are four sets of tees, playing from 5,123 to the "Jacobsen" tees at 6,840 yards.
A full-service pro shop and deli are located in the clubhouse, which has a spacious outdoor deck overlooking the 18th green. Next to the clubhouse is a large tented area for private parties, tournament function, weddings and other catered events. An expansive 6 1/2-acre driving range with all grass tees and target greens serves as a convenient on-site practice area
Another unique aspect of Stone Creek Golf Club is the excellent drainage. Significant resources were expended to ensure the driest course conditions for year-round play. According to Golf Course Superintendent David Phipps, "At most courses in the Northwest during the winter months, the ball doesn't roll much, but here you'll see the ball actually bouncing down the fairway in January."
Two of the most scenic holes are par-3s. the 180-yd. No. 6 played over a lake from the Jacobsen tees, and the 141-yd. No. 14, which necessitates a drive over wetlands and consideration of a stack of boulders protecting the green. One of Peter Jacobsen's favorite holes is the par-4 ninth, a 397-yard challenge from the back tees with two fairways to choose from - an upper elevated landing area with a clear view of the green; or a lower approach through a narrow opening between bunkers.
After a round of golf, golfers can relax at the clubhouse with outdoor seating on a large deck overlooking the 18th green
With its large tented area for special events, Stone Creek Golf Club is a prime spot for hosting tournaments, weddings, corporate outings and other large groups.

Beautifully dry!
Considering how wet the weather is it remains very playable
First visit to Stone Creek GC
First visit to Stone Creek GC, and it was worth it!
First off, I'd like to thank the facility for offering the Veteran's Appreciation Day - incredibly honorable of you to do that for not only the Veteran's but also for those of us who are currently in the military. Thank you!
Check-in was a breeze, pro shop staff was exceptionally helpful and took very little time at all.
CARTs were incredibly clean, looked brand new to be fair - and the gentleman who was parking the CARTs for use was funny and clearly enjoys his job.
The starter was friendly, gave tips for being a fist time patron of the course, as well as guidelines for keeping the CART off the fairways for a select number of holes, and finally advised pace of play references to ensure things went smoothly - which they did.
The course was in fantastic condition, from tee to green and everything in between. It was an exceptionally cold day (barely got to the low 40's) and we had a lot of rain over the previous several days. The course drained very well, except for a bunker on a par 3 towards the end of the round (really wish I could have retrieved by Chrome Soft X Truvis but it was a lake in there). None of the other bunkers had this issue, so I'd bet the drain had become plugged with debris - which is understandable. These things happen.
Played the round with two others who have logged several rounds at Stone Creek, which made the experience quite a bit nicer for me being a first timer - much appreciated!
To all the staff, from greens keepers / grounds crew to the pro shop to the CART/maintenance crew - 5/5, 10/10, 100/100 - GREAT JOB and keep up the great work! Looking forward to my second visit to the facility.
great view and nice course
It’s one of the best course and view I have ever played. We can keep our pace for playing. Nothing made us distracted...
Best winter course around
Course is usually in great condition all winter. Greens are true and fairly fast.
Always dependable
The people at the course have gotten much more pleasant over the years. Course is always in at least good shape if not excellent and as everybody notes it plays well in the winter... just played 75th round in the last 4 years here so they are doing something right!
Fun Fall Golf
Love this course and only wish they had some more Hot Deal T-times after 12 on weekdays to use my stock of GolfNow promo codes!~
Great Value, Nice Track for all
Stonecreek is a pleasant and dependable course when it comes to playing in great or suspect weather. Drains well and is maintained very well. Great values can always be found, playability is a plus!
Great course!
Course is in great shape. I also like the practice facility.
In awesome shape for our recent weather. Rich and were Thein were running the pro shop with their usual friendly demeanor. . One of the best courses in the area. Dryer than almost anywhere
Fun day on the course
I joined up with 3 other gentlemen, and proceeded to have an enjoyable and leisurely round of golf. I had a great time. I'll be back!
Stonecreek - Winter Ready
Played Stonecreek yesterday, the green’s have come in nicely since plugging and sanding and the course looks to be in great condition for the winter. I play around Portland during the summer but always return to Stonecreek - best value for money in Portland year round and one of the few courses that has invested in drainage and green maintenance to support wet conditions. Excellent all around!
The best winter golf course in Portland area
The course is in great condition. Green has been punched 4 days ago but still rolls well. You can drive on the fairway on most of none part 3s. If you can't stay away from playing golf in the wet season, this course is your first choice.
First Time at Stone Creek
I was told how good this course is and I was not disappointed. The layout is very good with just the right amount of bunkers and water hazards. It's forgiving for the odd stray shot off the tee.
On the day we played the greens had just been prepared for winter, so it was not the best time to play, however, even that didn't take the edge of the day.
I would like to play there again.
Better back 9 than front
As an east coaster, I wanted to play somewhere around Portland that let me know I was in the Pacific Northwest and not at a generic resort. Stonecreek did just that, although the back 9 was much better than the front.
Upon arrival, you'll notice a ton of locals and some very bitter employees. Ignore the employees and warm up on the spacious range or one of the two practice greens. Both were in good condition, even though the course was pretty wet.
Once on the course, I was impressed with how lush and well-drained everything was given the amount of rain we'd gotten. The bunkers especially were in great shape. The greens were fine, although it seems no one there wants to fix a ball mark.
The front nine opens up right in front of you, with no tricks or gimmicks. There are a couple of tee shots where being able to work the ball will help, but for the most part, what you see is what you get. The greens are mostly elevated or guarded by bunkers in the front, so along with a course that I imagine is usually at least a little wet, there aren't many opportunities to run the ball up to the hole.
Once you reach the 11th hole, the fairways narrow considerably and ball placement becomes much more critical. You also get more elevation change, which can leave some difficult shots where you have a downhill lie to an uphill green. The par 3's on this course are pretty good, and I especially loved 14, a wedge over a natural area to a super narrow green. Hit it into the hill behind the green and let it feed your ball back to the hole. Modern architects seem to have forgotten how fun short par 3's are; the 14th is a prime example of the type of design features courses should try to incorporate.
I wish the front 9 was more like the back, but I still had an enjoyable round. I would recommend this course if you're in the area.
Course in great condition and fair
If you get too wild with your shots you'll lose some balls, and the bunkers are steep faced, but overall a fair test of golf on a well maintained course. The greens were in excellent shape.
