Lafayette Golf Club

I took a group of 12 here for unlimited golf, a super nice condo, and 2 meals for less than the price of a hotel room. The staff was awesome and the guy that runs the place (Derk) is the absolute best. You will not have a better time anywhere. The course was challenging and besides a couple greens having a few bad spots it was in great condition. If you're a golf snob this might not be the place for you but if you want to have a great time with some great people, then I couldn't recommend this place more. We will be back.

I really hate to say anything negative about a local golf course, but I feel I have to. My friends and I went to Lafayette at Falls of rough last week . We called for a tee time but was told we didn't need one. Nothing was said about the condition of the course. We paid our green fees and again nothing was said about condition. The greens were partly or mostly dead. 4 holes the greens were closed and a hole with flag was placed in front of the green in the fairway. The course was nearly unplayable. I know they have had a lot of problems, but there is no excuse for not telling customers about the condition.

This course is finally getting the TLC it deserves. Greens are getting there, bunkers are improving, tees need some work. Hopefully warmer weather will kick start all.

This is undoubtedly the worst course I’ve ever played. I was here in July and the conditions were terrible. They were watering fairways that were already swampland from the rains and it had obviously not been mowed in a while. Back this past weekend and still terrible. The “fairways” were actually “fringe” and God forbid you miss said fairway because you would never find your ball in 6” rough. The tee boxes weren’t mown, the greens were burnt and full of crabgrass. There is no way to chip around the greens because, again, TALL THICK GRASS. We had a tee time of 10:30, got there at 9:30 just in case we could get out, and was told we had a 10:50 tee time. From 9:50-10:20 NO ONE teed off on number 1. Seems the owner had blocked off tee times for some friends. All this for $35? Not again. I’m from NC and I play 3 courses on a regular basis that seem like Pebble Beach compared to this course, for less than $30. I enjoyed the round playing with friends and the staff was really nice but I won’t be playing here again until MAJOR changes take place on the groundskeeping.

This course is not the same course from 20 years ago. All of the tees are crabgrass and have not been mowed. It is difficult to differentiate rough from fairway. On a Friday there was not one worker on the golf course mowing or doing any kind of maintenance. $40 for a round is not close to being any sort of value. The only saving grace is the layout which is still quite enjoyable.

Why are traps not maintained? Why aren't the ponds weed eated? Why is there not more workers taking care of the course? Why are you watering the woods on #9? Why is there bird crap all over the back deck! Why is there not more selections in pro shop. This course could be a jewel but evidently the owners don't want it to be. Why why Why! The only reason has to be the owners won't spend the money. Get some one, a real greens keeper to do the job! Photos on website are not the way it actually is. Fix it. If the course was a reflection of the staff it would be perfect but it's not.

Course is great. Fairways are good and greens are great.really a great course. Well worth the money. Great country views.

I have always loved the layout of the course and the challenges it presents. I try to play the course a couple times a year. I played the course in the spring and the greens were terrible. I was pleasantly shocked when I came to the first green and it and all the rest were in great shape. They were fast and putted true. The fairways were ok but with the lack of rain in September that could be expected. You can tell that the management is putting forth the effort to improve the course. The staff was friendly and there were more golfers than I have ever seen at the course. Keep improving. I definitely will be back.

Played this course many times in the 2000’s. It was a well conditioned course at that time, one of my favorite in central Kentucky. Today, very disappointed to see crabgrass and other weeds invading the greens. The areas around the greens had many muddy areas from watering or leaks. Glad I didn’t pay regular price. Even with GolfNow super discount, experience was underwhelming.

Beautiful scenery very nice layout felt like we were the only ones on the course on a busy day. The only downfall were the greens were not in good shape quite alot of crabgrass made it difficult for a good roll. But for what we paid on golfnow definitely worth the $$$$

I’ve been playing this course off and on the last 6 years through different owners and managers. The current state of is the best it has been in that time. This place is a hidden gem. The new manager Chuck is GREAT and really working to make it a great experience for golfers and stay and play people. If you have any issues CHUCK is ready to work with you!

Really enjoyed playing here for the first time. Course was in decent shape for the dry weather and heat. Loved the layout. Staff was friendly. I will be back and highly recommended.

Staff is really working hard on improvements. Greens are better and grass is being cut regularly. Cups need to changed more frequently, once a week is not enough!

Although turf conditions are not at country club expectations, they are more than playable. Greens are receptive to shots and do hold. Think back to when you were a kid playing on a muni just for the fun & luv of the game...you will truly appreciate the magnificent layout and overall difficulty of the course.

Love the layout and scenery. Greens are getting better which means they are working with them. Staff is awesome. Club Manager really cares about the course and the players. Really could use a good sports Bar and Grill now that it is Wet in that part of the County. Will Play there every chance I get.

Always love the layout and scenery that surrounds the course however there still needs to be a lot of work done to return the course like it was in the past. When we arrived we were told that the greens had just been areiated and that's okay but there was still weeds and big clumps of grass that wouldn't let you hit a straight putt. Also on the back nine the cups haven't been changed in a while and most were higher than the putting surface that wouldn't let your ball go in the hole. The fairways were in pretty good shape and the rough was mowed and we played in around 3 hours. I look forward in returning in the future to see if the owners keep improving the course.

Always loved this course. Fell on hard times the last few years but new management is bringing it back!! At one time a top 10 course in the state. Fantastic to have a quality golf course at the lake. Layout has always been fun. No negatives from me---new management had a lot of work to do and it is getting there!! Keep up the good work---will be coming back!!

Course has recovered tremendously since the Texan's stole all the money. The course looked great. The greens were overrun with crabgrass & dead spots & were very slow. Recover the greens & fix a couple water leaks & I would play there regularly. My wife & I love this course. 1st & 18th holes added some cool wood sculptures.
