Wildcat Golf Club - The Lakes

About
Architect Roy Case created both courses on this new 36-hole, daily-fee facility that is located only 10 minutes from downtown Houston. In addition to the views of the skyline, Case had at his disposal a touch of Hill Country terrain with dramatic elevation changes, as well as the typical Houston- area prairie lands. From this he was able to carve the links-style Highlands Course and the more traditional Lakes Course.
As its name implies, the Lakes Course, which tips out at a par 72 7,016 yards, is loaded with water. The best hole is the 539-yard No. 7, which is listed as the number one handicap. Interestingly, the four easiest holes are the par 3s, which range from 165 to 218 yards.

these courses have very scenic views of Houston.
Both the Lakeside and the Highland side are difficult in their own ways. Especially with yesterday‘s windy conditions 25mph steady winds. SMH!!
Fun time
We had a great time playing Lakes. The course is really challenging. I don’t have any complaints about the course, but, we finished at 6pm and it would have been nice to grab a beer and a hamburger at the bar, but it closed at 5pm :(
Where are the marshals?
What might have been a five-star round of golf was marred by slow play. Our threesome waited on almost every shot and had to ask the twosome behind us to join us for the last four holes so they could finish before nightfall as the temperature fell to the 40's..
Nearly five hours and not a single marshal in sight or moving things along. Not acceptable for a course of Wildcat's caliber.
Nice course with nice ammenities
Nice place. Only issues were pace or play on the back nine and Range ball machine was out of balls for warm ups. Wish the green fees were more affordable I would play more often.
Great time
Everything was great. Course was in fantastic condition played a very enjoyable pace. Great practice area. Staff and Marshalls were excellent. Only thing preventing 5all around was course layout. There are a couple of holes that
T are blind tee shots where if you don’t know layout can be very confusing. Also some holes where you can hit on to greens or tee boxes on other holes if you a tee a little wayward and you don’t even know it. Makes it hard to warn othe

Great amenities and excellent course!
Second time at this course, played The Lakes and overall had a blast. Very nice and well kept. Looking forward to the next visit.
Fun day at wildcat
This course is very challenging. You must pay attention to the GPS. Lake course has lots of water Hazzards.
Putting greens ware very smooth and fast. I would highly recommend this course of all my friends.
Great course to play
It was a beautiful day to play golf in a great course, the only thing o want to mention is the speed bumps are not very visible, maybe it’s time to paint them. Lol
