NICE COURSE!
How beautiful. Course layout and hole designs are first rate. Tee boxes, fairways, greens, all in great shape. Give it a try. You'll be glad you did.
This was the 3rd time for me and 1st for wife . Really enjoyed the course . We will go back and we play lots of golf thank you !
Love the Course
Fairways are in great shape. Greens are fast and course is in great shape as usual. And if you drive in the fairway you can score. Love this course
Overall good
Got to the back nine and the backup was horrible. Counted 7 groups between #10 tee and #11 green. Probably won’t try the weekend again.
Great course
My sons and I had a great time at Chariot Run. It was a challenging course that requires accuracy off the tee and punishes you if you find the heavy rough. The course was in excellent condition and the staff and facilities were first class. I would highly recommend this course.
Pace of play
I know no course seems to utilize rangers to keep the pace of play on track and that is a shame. On this day at this course it was common to be two groups waiting on tee box while slow play was exhibited in front of us.
Great course, friendly staff!
Though I grew up in Louisville, I'd never heard of Chariot Run in Indiana, but was pleased by the reviews of the course while I was in town for a weekend visit. Though the drive to the course feels like you're in the middle of nowhere, I was pleasantly surprised once I arrived. The clubhouse is clean and beautiful, and the starter/cart staff offered a warm welcome. The pro shop was well-stocked and, again, really friendly staff. I was paired with one of the club's members (Brad), who could not have been nicer... great conversationalist and offered great advice for navigating the course as we played (especially on the holes with blind tee shots). The course itself was in fantastic shape with fast greens (which I don't hate). Though the rough was high, I wouldn't call it overly penal This course was worth the almost hour drive from Louisville. I'll definitely play there again!
Nicest course in Louisville area
I played with a couple of friends. All of us really enjoyed playing. It was not crowded so we could play our pace (3 hours 50 minutes for 18 hole). All staff members were so friendly and I loved the layout of the course. The unlimited driving range was so helpful. Chipping green and putting green were well maintained. It was recently aerated and that's only reason I didn't give 5 star for the course condition. A cooler with bottled water and a few tees come with a cart. The ice machine and water stations were definitely hit. Even though we had to drive over an hour, we really enjoyed the course and all of us agreed that it is the best course near Louisville.
Great course and very friendly staff. Highly recommended!!
I traveled from South Bend to the area and heard about the course. It was well worth making the trip from my hotel. The course was in great shape for October and the staff were very friendly/helpful. The only drawback is the facility is pretty much in the middle of nowhere so there aren't any off course amenities. It is still a must play if you are in the area.
Spectacular Course (if you can tolerate slower play)
I will start by saying I love Sultans Run. The layout is smart, breathtaking and beautiful. The greens are fast, true and undulated. They play even faster than the stemp because of the undulations.
The staff is friendly, the course is well priced and the clubhouse is appropriate for the venue.
The reason it doesn’t get 5 stars in everything is the simple reason most golfers get frustrated…. Pace of play. And it’s not that Sultans is overly slow. Most places are overly slow. It just take the 4 some in front of you or the two foursomes in front of you to put a damper on things. So while we were only a few minutes behind (according to the clock on the cart which is a slow round to begin with), we were actually 3 holes behind what should be the pace of play. The 4some in front of us was 1 and 1/2 hole behind the 4some in front of them who were 1 and 1/2 holes behind the next 4some. And there were no rangers to patrol. But what were they to say??? “You are 3 minutes behind.” I guess my beef is with the golfers who play and are “out of position”. If you are not behind the 4 some in front of you then you are behind and need to pick up the pace!!!! Period. Here’s to being cogniscent and courteous to your fellow golfers. So let’s pickup the pace and give Sultans the 5 stars in everything that it truly deserves.
The pace of play was very slow and it took us 5:05 to finish our round...
