Kintore Golf Club

About
Excellent drainage results in very few days of lost play throughout the year. The interest lies in the contract between the old and the new nines, and although not a long a course as some in the area, the visitor to Kintore cannot afford to be over-confident. The first is one of the toughest opening holes in the North East then, having climbed the hill at the second hole and completed the third, it is time to embark on the new part of the course which, by virtue of being lined by trees, and criss-crossed by burns produces some very interesting holes.
The seventh is one of the best holes on the course, enquiring an accurate drive followed by a second shot over a burn which runs diagonally across the front of the green.
The eleventh is the longest hole on the course, made longer by the fact that it slopes upwards all the way to the green. Returning to the old nine, the remaining, six holes are short, relatively hilly and quite tricky, requiring good club selection, accuracy and a certain amount of good fortune, and your reward will be spectacular views over the river Don and stretching away to the Bennachie and Grampian ranges of hills to the north and south.

Great condition, very friendly and helpful staff
Decided to treat myself to a round here on a weeknight. Course was in great condition and a fun challenge. Unfortunately i hadn’t realised there were league games on prior to my tee time so caught up with them around halfway. The club administrator, Scott, came over on a buggy and was very friendly and advised that I could go back and repeat some holes and then he would come and let me know when a gap had cleared up. He then came and found me later apologising for having to play a different route and has organised for me to play another round on the house which wasn’t necessary but was very kind. I really enjoyed the course and would recommend it to all. Refreshing to meet golf club staff that are helpful and welcoming to visitors which you don’t come across often in my experience at other courses.
Lovely setting
This is a great little woodland course, lots of blind and semi blind holes which makes ball positioning a challange, for the time of year the greens were in great shape and run true, highly recommended playing here if you have before, the finishing holes are fun.
Excellent
Brilliant course with lots of variety, the course was in fantastic condition.
Beautiful scenic course
Course in general was in excellent condition however the greens were not in great condition. It seemed like they were preparing them for winter so greens were running very poorly. Some of the bunkers (well ones i landed in!) a lot of stones and quite firm sand.
However some of the holes are fantastic and the views are breathtaking especially when standiing on the 18th tee.
Considering the cost to play it was excellent value for that price. If the greens were in much better condition you wouldnt begrudge paying more to play for sure.
Only other thing, we finished after 3pm and would've loved to have had a cold drink on such a warm day however the bar closes at 3pm so no facilities available when coming off the course which is a shame.
Such a shame
Greens were in a terrible state considering time of year. Arrived to find clubhouse shut and just had to ask around to see when to tee off. Such a shame had really good experience here a few years ago hate to say it but better off skipping and going to play ellon or Inverurie.
Great course
Really nice course with some picturesque holes well looked after and maintained. Watch out for unexpected water hazards and the 2nd hole not for the faint hearted.
Poor greens and 3 Mickey Mouse holes
The greens were really poor with hardly any growth. The holes 2., 15 & 16 up & down the steep hill are a joke with blind shots. I won’t be returning in a hurry.?£40 also puts you off!
Little Gem
I knew nothing about Kintore GC prior to playing and I’m pleased.
It turned out to be the best part of my 4 week trip up here for work.
What a great course, greens are superb and true.
Excellent for this time of year
We played at 8am, just as was getting light, first day of frost but course was in top condition for end of November, great course for higher handicappers like myself, some testing holes but lots of forgiving holes, contemplating on joining next year,
Enjoyable course
Kintore has really matured over the years and now is a good test of golf with it's cracking layout. The new 13th is a superb par 3 and the 15th down the hill towards the Don and all of Kintore is always a pleasure to play especially.
A Round at Kintore
Good course to play and I would play it again. Some hilly holes to climb at the start of the round but the views are excellent. The course levels out before the spectacular downhill holes. There are some blind shots but there are are plenty of marker poles to guide you round these and we didn't find they spoiled the day.
