Oldmeldrum Golf Club

About
For many years a nine hole course, the course was extended to its present eighteen holes between 1987 and 1989. A par 70 course, measuring just under 6200 yards, it presents a varied and challenging test of golf, requiring accurate play off the tee and a good short game on the approaches to the small and tricky greens. The course has few hidden hazards, and what you see in front of you is what you have to conquer.
The first and last holes, containing slight doglegs, are much more testing than they would appear from the card, and if you can start and finish with two fours, you can be well satisfied. The Par 3 11th hole looks more intimidating than it really is, but requires a clean shot over the water. If you duff it, you are likely to be dropping another ball at the side of the pond.

Great condition
Arrived nearly late for tee time , the pro in the clubhouse made sure we got out on time without any fuss very welcoming loved the course top condition throughout
Great course
Sort of tricky course for me but excellent course would definitely recommend and go back to play it
Disappointing golf course
Booked a time, arrived to find another group of two players playing at the same tee time. A two ball in front in buggy, making us wait every shot even though we were walking, group of two behind us in a buggy waiting for every shot for us to play. Playing winter greens which was disappointing as no frost. Was told there was red tees for ladies, only on 1st tee. First impressions means a lot and the first is a shared fareway with the 18th, which is dangerous and underwhelming. Far nicer courses to choose from in the area.
Different
First hole a little confusing due to the 18th hole sharing the same area. At this time of year you expect lots of leaves, but the course was kept very tidy. Quite easy to lose your golf ball when there's leaves all over the place. Greens were in good condition.
Definitely play there again.
Still a great place to play
Played here again for the first time since May. Book ending the summer and the course was in great condition. Despite being quiet there are some bottlenecks where you have to wait if someone is on an neighbouring tee or green, which is a little frustrating. That said, everyone on course was very friendly and patient. Considering the price of other courses in the Aberdeen area, this is a great value course, in lovely surroundings, that will test your approach game.
Well looked after course.
My son and I played Oldmeldrum on Wednesday around midday. We were greeted by Hamish who is one of the most amiable professionals I have come across. He let us know about the work being performed on the course and that winter greens were in play . This wasn’t a problem as the winter greens were in very good condition while the normal greens were getting work done.
Oldmeldrum is a lovely course with tree lined fairways which just beg you to get the driver out.
Aye, we’ll be back. Keep it up Hamish , you do a grand job.
Oldmeldrum golf course
Absolutely brilliant course great friendly staff good greens
Awsome course
Absolutely loved my day at Old Meldrum, im relatively new to golf and did struggle finding my next tee from time to time.
Also some of the holes crossed others or shared a fairway almost killed a guy on the 11th (bit dramatic) but my ball did hit him went right to i think the 15th tee off. But overall was a great course especially for a beginner like myself, everyone was super friendly and helpful.
A Must Play
We arrived early for our tee time and decided to have a bite to eat in the clubhouse. Unfortunately food is not served until 11.00am so we had a short wait. The waitress was sultry and less than friendly but the bacon rolls were wonderful. The clubhouse turned out to be the low point of our day and the Professional was friendly and very helpful.
The course is well laid out with a good variety of holes. It was in great condition and the greens were superb.
Old Meldrum is certainly a course worth playing. Just don’t bother with the clubhouse!!
Brilliant course
Brilliant course which was in really good condition. Was lovely and sunny as well which made it even better.
Great Gol
Been 5 times now and it is always a great experience. Has to be one of the most friendly and helpful golf pros I've met.
Thoroughly recommend.
