Murcar Links Golf Club - Strabathie Course

i played the smaller 9 hole course and it was absolutely fantastic i couldnt recommend it enough, i was working in aberdeen for the week and with some lovely weather i thought i’d book a quick 9 holes and i won a watch with this course being close to me the greens were immaculate and the fairways were near enough the same

This course, for £25 (for 18 holes!) is incredible. It’s a tough little course, small greens and tight fairways but my gosh was it in fantastic condition. The first hole looks a bit rough round the edges but the rest of it is fantastic. Beautiful surroundings. The layout of having slightly different tee boxes depending if you’re playing it as a front 9 or back 9 is a great idea too. Great pitching and putting area. The main course also looked amazing and will be saving up for a round there soon! But honestly one of the best courses I’ve played and for the money it’s just brilliant. 11/10

We played on their second course , not the championship, probably this was the resoan that the course wasn’t in very good comditions…

Course and greens were in excellent condition. Very friendly staff and Murcar has first class practice facilities. If you're looking to grab a quick 9 holes then this is a gem.

This was an away day for my wife and I. She is new to the game this year but has had a dozen lessons through a ladies set-up called Love golf which is for women looking to learn the game.
The staff were welcoming, and the facilities very good. There is a well stocked golf shop just in case you have forgot to take anything with you.
The course is a tricky little thing with water hazards on half a dozen of the holes and placement of the shots being important. The course was quite dry on the fairways but the greens were in good condition.
For first timers playing the course it took a wee bit of navigation and a few look’s of the map on the card to find our way round.
The other golfers playing seemed to be a very nice, friendly bunch unlike some speed merchants on municipal courses.
Will we play this course again? The answer has to be aye as next time we shall know the lay of the land and where the burn is.
Try it and enjoy it.

My rating would be higher but I was disapointed that winter greens were in play especially as normal greens were in play apart from 1 hole the week before, it did not appear to be frosty either. This is disappointing as it takes away the enjoyment of playing a good course. the normal greens also look to be in good condition

Had a nice quick round first thing Saturday, still playing off fairways without mats. Green had just cored and top dressed but overall course was in great condition. Hopefully get another round before winter greens.
