Singing Hills Golf Resort at Sycuan - Oak Glen

About
Singing Hills Golf Resort at Sycuan (formerly known as Sycan Resort) offers two 18-hole championship courses, Oak Glen and Willow Glen, as well as an 18-hole, par-3 course. The courses are tucked into a valley, surrounded by mountains and sloping hillsides that provide stunning backdrops on almost every hole. The Sweetwater River runs through the Oak Glen Course, coming into play on several holes including the memorable fifth hole, which is definitely a contender for one of the best par 4s in San Diego. This challenging hole requires an accurate drive across the river. The gently rolling terrain is sprinkled with mature trees. The layout features undulating greens and tight fairways. It is a challenging golf course but it is generally forgiving off of the tees, which makes it slightly less difficult than the hillier Willow Glen Course from Singing Hills Golf Resort at Sycuan.

Excellent conditions
Sycuan pays no taxes, some of the extra cash is used to take great care of the courses.
Earth Quake on Oak Glen.
Great day which included a 5.2 earthquake as i was preparing to hit my approach on hole 9.
Staff was professional and very helpful. I really love this entire complex layout.
Probably the Best Value Course for the Money in SD
One of my favorites at this price point for the money!
Losing its Way
We are an older couple who has played both courses at Singing Hills over the years. We have watched the facility decline, not in terms of conditioning or capital improvements. The casino owner is clearly putting money into the course. The problem is with the players. The course now appeals to the young male golfer whose main desire is to play music on the course, hit the ball a mile without regard to where it goes, celebrate decent shots with raucous cheers, deplore the bad shots with obscenities, and consume as much alcohol on the course as possible. Two staff members of the course to whom we recently spoke referred to these patrons as "degenerates" and "yahoos." The only solution is to cease selling alcohol on the course. Since that isn't going to happen, with regret (because the bones of the courses are quite good), we shall have to look elsewhere for our golf experiences.
Pace of play
They sent two groups 5 somes in front of 3 some tee time at 7-18 am which I booked through golf now. When I called pro shop they response is they are members here and we send 5 some groups and no other reputable private clubs won’t do that.
Firm greens and well kept fairways.
Greens were firm but still receptive. Always a nice lie in the fairways. Nice sand in greenside and fairway bunkers.
Great course
The fairways and greens were in great shape. I played oak glen and will definitely be going back to play willow glen
Good winter condition.
Course was very good for wintertime. Challenging but not overwhelming. Range has been permanently restricted with nets and no driver tees due to a large soccer camp which was constructed on the property. Hope mods are scheduled so a full warm up can be had.
