Chardonnay Golf Club

About
Sitting at the gateway to the renowned Napa Valley wine district, Chardonnay Golf Club meanders through acres of lush Chardonnay and Merlot vineyards dotted with sparkling lakes and wandering creeks. Native flora and fauna cover the golf course, which also provides a home for an abundance of wildlife including hawks, foxes, bobcats, and even the occasional golden eagle. Besides the spectacular setting, the layout provides one of the most challenging rounds in the area. The rolling landscape provides interesting elevation changes and there are plenty of mature trees coming into play. Several holes also feature water hazards and strategically placed bunkers. Chardonnay Golf Club's greens are lightning fast and the course plays long. One of the most memorable holes, both for the scenery and level of difficulty is the par-3 eighth. This hole is framed by stunning views of the Valley and it requires some clever shotmaking skills.

Elevated tee, what a view. If you turn around and use a spotting scope, you can see the top of one tower of the Golden Gate bridge Photo submitted by Titaniumhen on 12/21/2020

Traps
A little surprised that the traps have not been attended too (Raked)?
A nice day on a golf course
This is a challenging course, need to hit every fairway if you want to get good scores. Weather condition is perfect..
one big failing
I love this course and have played it many times. Usually score decent since there are 6 par 3s. THERE REMAINS ONE BIG FAILING!
The bunkers badly need sand in them. EV right next door just rebuilt theirs and it makes all the difference to have a few inches of real sand, not an 1/8" of dirt. GIven the prices they charge this might make a big difference to you.
Jewel to a dump
I have been playing this course since it opened. The place is a disaster. The carts are destroyed, the pro shop looks like a 7 11 bathroom no catering, no staff.
Stay away even with a golf now discount. If you have history with this place it will break your heart.
A beautiful day outdoors
The course is perfectly maintained. Not much standing water in the fairways after heavy rain.
I am pretty happy with the course and pretty sure will play again. I strongly recommend this course to my friends.
This place is a dump
Used to play this course a lot 30 years ago and then the last 10 years and especially currently it’s in the roughest shape I’ve ever seen. Don’t waste your money. It’s a dump.
A long day of golf
Two groups of players were playing real slow.
No fun at all.
Fun round of golf with my friends
In general, I like to play this course again. I would like to point out that the groups in front of us was playing pretty slow that destroyed our tempo.
Pace of play was hirribke
We played 9 holes in 3 hours and 15 minutes. There was no one on the course pushing pace of play. Very frustrating and disappointing.
A challenging course
This course is challenging, a lot of hazards guarding the greens.Needs a good layups.
There are pretty much potholes on the cart paths that need to be fixed.
Good course, but extreme slow pace of play with no course marshall
Very disappointing round at chardonnay. Course is in pretty decent shape but by hole 3 we were backed up. Played as a 2 some with my girlfriend, and were by no means playing fast.we waited 15-20 minutes on every tee box and the par 4s and 5s there were 3 groups on the hole playing with 2-3 waiting for the tee box. Extremely horrible pace of play as all mentioned groups were also either 2 or 1 players of mostly elderly men who just didn't seem to care they were causing such a backup. I was very excited to have a day off and play a course I have enjoyed in the past, but after 4.5 hours and only being through 14 holes, we left without finishing our round. To be honest it was a huge waste of time and money to make the 2 hour trip there. No Marshall or pace control on course is pretty disappointing when it seems this is a common issue in reading other reviews for a course that is as expensive as this one is to play, safe to say I will not be making a attempt to play this course ever again
