Well designed course dieing
Most disappointing experience
The course is in terrible trouble due to the drought.
I hope it can be saved as layout is great
Nice Greens
This course has 6 par 3's, 6 par 4's and 6 par 5's. It was built at a time when Australia didnt have any 'resort courses' (1972) and you can feel in the design that it is a very American style of golf course, where you have to flight the ball over water and/or over bunkers to get to the green. It is very close to the beach, which makes for that lovely coastal feel. The views from the clubhouse towards Byron Bay are exceptional, as are the views West to the hinterland. The golf course is difficult, particularly off the BLUE tees, and the course offers players a dozen new golf balls if they break their handicap from the Blue Tees....that is the last Friday of each month in their 'Blue Marker Challenge.' The Greens are HUGE and often rolling really really nicely at around 10-11 on the stimp.
