Well worth a visit
Fantastic course.
Played during winter and still was in good condition.
Staff very friendly as always.
It’s always a treat to play.
Galgorm Castle Golf Club is always a treat to play. Upon arrival we were given a warm welcome by Barry in the shop and Phil was very efficient in sorting us out with our buggies for the round. The course was in excellent condition as is typical and what you’d expect from a DP World Tour venue. We enjoyed brunch prior to our game in the fabulous restaurant. Looking forward to playing it again come the new season.
Galgorm is great...
Galgorm was a welcome break from the north coast links and it had made some changes since my previous visit in 2022 - all very impressive.
Putting surfaces in particular were excellent and fairways were like carpets.
Off the course, staff are very friendly and bar/restaurant one of the coolest I've been in.
Highly recommended!
A must visit if you're playing parkland golf in NI...the Resort is a very special place - the most impressive Spa I have ever enjoyed!
Fantastic
We got an excellent deal for a Saturday afternoon tee time. We were paired with 2 other players. Pace of play was excellent - we were not held up once. Our tee time was 14:56.
The course was in great condition. Greens were very fast but fair and consistent. Fairways had plenty of run in them. Every hole was unique and challenging in layout. The rough was very penalising for inaccurate shots. Pin positions were tricky but not unfair. Fella at reception was very friendly. Well stocked shop. Would highly recommend - an all round fantastic course and experience.
Save Your Money There Are Much Better Courses
Played 4 rounds of golf at different courses near Belfast, this was by far the worst and most expensive, the course off the fairway was very rough, grass far too long, greens were generally ok but not great( far too bumpy), parts of the course looked as though they were under construction, and virtually no directions to the next hole, buggy hire was expensive, not cleaned, no scorecard, or sandbox when we got them, I thought the whole set up needed some attention and they are living off past merits. On the plus side the staff were helpful and the members we talked to were great. I would not recommend this course, Visit Rockmount to see how a golf course should be at more than half the price of Galgorm
Disappointed
The course needs a lot of care and maintainance. It is potentially a great course but it must be living off it's reputation as an Irish Open venue. The bunkers were dire with no sand and grass and weeds growing in many bunkers. The fairways were good but you could lose your ball a yard from the fairway in horrendous rough. The buggies were expensive and quite dirty. There was no sand on tees or golf carts to repair any pitch marks or divots. I thought it was not worth the money compared to the other courses we played this week. I wouldn't recommend or play there again..Belfast
Hot deal 🔥
Galgorm Castle is a beautiful course with a fantastic layout. The round was great value as we got a hot deal and we will be keeping an eye out for future hot deals as we would definitely like to play the course again.
Gorgeous Galgorm Castle.
The course was in very good condition especially the greens. I was playing here on a Saturday afternoon by myself and it took me one hour to play 4 holes. The pace of play was horrific with the 2 ball in front walking in after 3 holes. Everyone were saying the same. I only played 12 holes, had enough. But the course being in great condition kinda made up for it. Will definitely play again, just at a quieter time.
Challenging in Winter, great conditions
Course is in great conditions despite lots of heavy rain. First time playing this course in approx 5-6 years. The course has been made a lot trickier in prep for hosting the Irish Open and it makes for a beautiful course. Very unforgiving in the winter with leaves covering the rough meaning any shots not finding fairway risked being lost. Great value for money at £20 for the round. Great post-golf setting with football on screens and live music in bar.
Great course
First time playing here after striking a very lucky Hot Deal for a 2 ball. Great course with tricky conditions heading into the ISPS tournament next month - thick rough was a challenge so fairway was key and they were immaculate. Course didn't hold the water even after weeks of rain, although my ball still managed to find some water on multiple occasions. Great day out
Great layout, nice greens.
Great layout, but the course maintenance needs more attention . The tees boxes were in terrible condition. The fairways were very scruffy. A very enjoyable day of golf and an excellent range and practice area.
Fair
Bit strict on opening tee, rough way over grown. Fairways in fair order, but getting patchy in it tidiness imo.
Got real potential, but need to play again when it's at its best.
A tournament-caliber parkland in Northern Ireland
I played Galgorm as it prepared to host its second DP World Tour event that caters to both male and female players. Fresh off an Irish Open as well, this is a tournament ready parkland that's still very enjoyable to play for any handicap. I shot my best round of the week here. There's loads of water so choose your targets wisely. The snack shack is an ancestral home of the original family that occupied the land, so that's a cool touch. The resort itself is excellent. This is definitely a worthy stop next time you're touring the famous links in Northern Ireland. Pamper yourself at the resort and savor a parkland experience with a little less wind and weather. It will recharge your batteries.
Really nice parkland course.
This is my second time playing here (although the first was in winter and was on temps due to frost). Have to say I wasn't disappointed on my return. Practice facilities are very good and staff in the pro shop friendly.
The course was in good condition with greens running well and I'm sure they will get better still through the season.
I honestly struggled to pick a weak hole on the course and enjoyed it right up until the last shot.
I look forward to returning next time I'm in Northern Ireland.
Brilliant course
Had a great game at this course very challenging if you get out of position but keep it straight and get a good score. Greens are fast :-).
Great to hear you enjoyed your game!
Kind regards
The team at Galgorm
