A compelling reason to come inland
Playing non-links golf during a trip to Ireland may sound like sacrilege, but Royal Belfast makes an awfully strong case for it, especially if at the midway point of your visit your group might be looking for a bit of a reset and a break from the wind. This classic parkland layout has the enviable benefit of looking down on Lough Erne, which is not an ocean but is plenty majestic.
The layout is somewhat beset by trees planted in recent decades that interrupt otherwise wonderful views, but the collection of holes- especially the par 3s – is more than worth seeing, and the refined atmosphere of the club is well worth being immersed in for half a day.
Royal Belfast Golf Club.
A very enjoyable day Andrew welcomed us upon arrival, terrific course great views. Staff and members in the the clubhouse were brilliant, great conversation, told us some of the clubs history, a few jokes, some adult beverages . I will definitely be back on my next visit to Northern Ireland. Simon

Royal belfast golf club
We have played many course's in lreland & portugal and we all said this course is 1 of the best
Great course
What struck me most about this golf club was how friendly everyone was. Everyone had a great appreciation for the spirit of the game. Friendliest club I ever played and I have ever played and I have been in more 250.
The course itself was excellent with lots of variations and very good greens.
A definite must play course
Pristine course with stunning views
An absolute cracker of a course. From the moment you drive along the long drive way up to the stunning clubhouse it doesn’t disappoint. Beautifully maintained course, with some real challenging holes.Views of Belfast Lough make it a super setting for a round of golf
Highly recommend it
2nd Time Lucky
I first played this course on a charity day last year-and needless to say it was a washout.... dreadful weather mixed with a chocablock course made it difficult to enjoy or even make the most of the surroundings...
Fast forward 16 months and things couldn’t have been more different. Yes, there were still light drizzle but that was it! I had a 8.26 tee-time, arrived at 8.15 and was told I could go on ahead as the course was clear. The 1st 2 holes I was being “stalked” by the green keepers which is always fun but they were gone by the 3rd tee-box. I was told about the club rule about playing anything from 150 yards in off the light rough-this wasn’t an issue as it was clearly marked out on every hole.
All the tee-boxes were in play, as were the greens— welcome sight in late November. The overall presentation of the course was superb, no major issues with water saturation, and all greens were running pure.
Well worth the money, I was smiling the entire day (once the stalkers had gone away) and this came across in my nett Par score-delighted!
Highly recommended to anyone wanting to play a Royal course at non-Royal prices!
Great Day of Golf
Andrew the Head Professional was very accommodating to our group and made us feel like members for a day. We all walked the course and glad we did because it was a true gem to enjoy the vistas and the course while enjoying a parkland setting course with views of the water. Course was in very good shape and the greens were challenging but fair. Clubhouse and hospitality were nothing short of spectacular. Glad we had the opportunity to play such a pleasant golf course.
Very nice course close to center city Belfast
Nice natural layout following the hills. Beautiful view of water wit ships passing by. Greens were much faster than they looked especially when putting towards the water. Claims to be the oldest golf club in Ireland which alone makes it worth playing. Definitely have a drink in the clubhouse as it is spectacular and everyone will treat you like a member.
Loved it
So glad i got the chance to play this course with GOLFNOW and i will certainly be back. Treated really well by the staff here and the course was great to play. Played in February and the greens were in great condition. Def recommend this course and looking forward to getting the chance to play again come the summer time as im sure it would be superb.
