Great Queensland course
Home of the 2032 Olympics golf and host to Australia PGA Championship.
Great members course.
Great Facilities but the Course looks Tired
The once in a lifetime opportunity to play Royal Queensland was very exciting, as this course is members-only and shows the great advantage of being a junior!
The off-course facilities (Clubhouse, Pro Shop, Practice Areas and Driving Range) were superb and is the best in Queensland and maybe in Australia. But the course isn't quite at the same standard. The condition of the course is excellent but the course doesn't stand out from the others I have played in Brisbane... A links/parkland style course gives a good test and the course is fairly open which creates a sense of shot creativity. What the course needs is a freshen up and to make the course more of a links beach style rather than a parkland which will stand out from the other courses in Brisbane...
Overall Grade: B+
Great Course in Middle of Brisbane
I regularly play this members course, but it is always challenging with tough greens. The course plays farily long and can get some afternoon wind off the riverfront. Bunkers are difficult and a real penalty as the lie is rarely flat. Fairways are wide off the tee but aproach shots are usually tight. A great test of golf.
Beautiful course by the river
Royal Queensland meanders along the Brisbane River and through many beautiful trees. Many of the greens are very undulating and can provide some challenging chips and putts.
Greg Norman's home course before he turned professional.
