Not the best muni in Florida
Whenever you see a sign at the entrance that says "Best municipal golf course in Florida" it's probably fake news, and I can attest that it is indeed fake news. They layout is weird, with a lot of doglegs and hidden water hazards. The course did not fit my eye. The worst thing about my experience were the greens, which were extremely oversanded, making putts impossible to hole because the ball either would hydro plane from the lack of grass, and get saturated by sand. The tee boxes where pretty chewed up, a sign that the course gets a lot of traffic and tee boxes are not well managed. I might give this course a try a second time to see if the conditions improved, but I don't see it happening any time soon.
Great course with realistic fees
Been playing Links for over ten years as a Florida resident. This past season course and most importantly its greens are the best in the area .
Course Superintendent Glenn has been as asset to the facility. New greens are in, true and speedy yet able to hold an approach shot. Pro Shop staff are first rate. Tommy behind the counter is a professional in many ways. New food service another positive.
From bag drop to cart return your round at the Links of Boynton Beach will be first class. Enjoy.
Great local cource
Love playing here. Everyone is so friendly. It's nice that they have a family course and Championship course. A lot of water and sand. Greens are weel kept and the fairways and rough are well maintained.
New to this course
I recently was introduced to this course, only about 5 miles from my house. The course is fun, inexpensive and the staff is very friendly! Plus, they currently are hosting the PGA HOPE program, that is for veterans. I encourage you all to go try this place. They have a family friendly course also!
vaca golf
Only played the front nine holes while on vacation.. seemed reasonable but not sure according to the reviews from some of the locals. I guess no matter what state you go to they're all raising prices and charging extra fees for everything.
Less for More
Almost appropriate fees for condition of course...
*Driving range( is/has been) poor...Raised ball prices, reduced # of balls. Installed hitting mat, due to unusable
turf.
-Now, as with all South Florida courses, "Thank god for Covid",,,,So we can raise prices 40% across the board..!!
Including: booking fees, single rider surcharges, etc...
They're all on track to make up revenue in one season,,,at the expense of the loyal locals who keep them afloat during the Summer...!!!
No Deal to Walk
One of my favorite courses in south Florida. Greens were very nice, but like most public courses this time of year, without any rain fairways VERY thin. Hard to get under the ball from most lies. No beverage cart all day. When I checked in, said I would like to walk and was told it is the same price as a cart! Golf rates have always been green fee plus cart fee, so why if I am walking do you pay the same rate??? Does not make any sense. Right now with virus why not give a discount and encourage walking? I enjoy walking but this is the only course I know of that charges the same rate as getting a cart.
The course has a great layout!
The course layout is great and it’s in excellent condition. Greens are quick but not unfairly. Pace of play is great also. The ProShop is old and needs a good refresh. Staff is pleasant and helpful.
A great place to play
From the minute you arrive and your bags are taken, you know you are in a special place. Aside from the staff being one of the most friendly and accommodating, their quest to keep things on time and moving along (in a friendly way) is always at the forefront. The course itself is in great shape; challenging but fair and the greens true and truly difficult. All I can say is that our foursome got its money's worth. Thank you all again for a wonderful day.
Easy to get a tee time
Course is fairly easy and generally very forgiving. However, grass is extremely thin- almost every shot is a tight lie.
Greens are similar- very short grass (almost sparse) making putting on the sloped areas challenging.
Solid course; great value
First time playing. Engaging layout, greens were in very good condition, fairways and tee boxes were in good condition. Paid $40, so thought that was a good value this time of year. Only complaint is the driving range limited to 220 yards. Had an awful day driving the ball due to lack of warmup, but finally hit a 276 fairway shot in 18. Be aware back tees are only 6200 yards.
Needs Some Water and Time
A very fun layout. Some really easy holes and some tough ones. Course is a bit baked from lack of rain. Not consistent grass all over. Greens rolled nice but they are still very hard from the renovations. Balls will not hold on approach shot. Better land them a little short and allow for roll. Needs some time and water to soften it up. Looking forward to going back during the summer.
Great Layout but in Poor Condition
This is a great, scenic layout in an Audubon-certified facility but is in poor shape, especially for what they charge. Not much grass, and there are weeds and bare/brown spots all over the fairways. Greens are thin and very fast. Took 4 hours to play 18 with a twosome on the front nine and by myself on the back 9 when they left after 9 holes. Carts are old but include GPS. Clubhouse is rustic and moldy-smelling. It's a shame, but I will not return.
Pace of play really really slow
I am a member at this club for 2018, my average time of play is around 4 1/2 hours. I decided to discuss this with the manager Ron Tapper, seeing as on the course they have signs and a time chart that clearly states the time of pace at being much quicker, the sign Even says that If you do not play under 4 hours that this is not a course for you. The manager told me this was high season for the course and that we get use to this. I discussed having a marshall all day and specially one that does the job, the manager shoved this off saying it would not change anything. We all know that a marshall that does the job is one of the solutions. The Links staff is great and friendly, course is in good shape.
Well kept secret
Nice user friendly golf course. with a layout you never tire of. Par 3s are a challenge depending on your tees. Ever present ranger keeps the pace of play reasonable. Disappointed with condition of the greens though; have been much better in the past. Staff is excellent.
Alright course
i have a handicap from 14-20 and this course is very easy for me. i play with many people that are not as fast playing and good as some other people i play with. when you get people behind you, they tend to be rude and not wait for you to take your time and finish your putts/take your shot. The fairways are very small and side by side on almost every hole. My children play on the family course and they love it.
Not well maintained
feels very congested as to course layout.. as to their claims as to being the best municipal course in so fla....I can name many , many others that far exceed it
Add this one to your favorites!!
Being a female golfers we have been to some courses that treat us "not so friendly". This is NOT one of those courses. The staff was friendly and informative. We were given some hints to keep us out of the trouble spots (not that we were able to apply the hints....) We were not forced to be paired with others. The costs for our rounds, our beverages and food were very reasonable, we even bought a gift in the pro-shop for a fellow golfer who was celebrating his 70th birthday. Having broken my foot two days after we played, I am sorry to say I will not be golfing for about six weeks but when I am healed.....The Links at Boynton will be one of my first rounds.
