GREAT TRACK
Played this course on a recipicoal guest fee from my home course back home. Been many years since I have played it and was NOT disappointed. Greens fairways bunkers etc. all in excellent condition. Greens were fast and true the scenery is fantastic. the clubhouse is a high end pull out all the stops with everyone from the course crews to pro shop staff to food staff making sure the day was MORE than expected. way to go folks a GREAT DAY
Great Course
Challenging course especially on a windy day. Large well maintained greens. Plenty of water that will make you think about your t-shot. Good value for the money. Southwood has hosted The McKenzie Tour which is a PGA managed event.
Great course
The WGC used to be played The Gallery before it moved to Dove Mountain. A challenging course from any tee box, well maintained with friendly staff.
One to Play if You Are Given the Opportunity
I have been very lucky to have had the chance to play The Gallery a few times in the past several years. Now that it has stabilized financially and is filling up it's membership, it is getting more difficult for us outsiders to play it. I understand totally. The course is always in great condition and the layouts are really imaginative. There are par 3's with 2 green options, greens with wild undulations and drive-able par 4's. With multiple tee boxes to choose from, players of all levels can find a comfort zone. On a few holes you can see the tournament tees where the pros once played the old Accenture Match Play Championship from. There is very little development on most of the holes right now, but it looks like that might change in the near future. The Gallery is a great golf club just north of Tucson and well worth whatever the cost might be to play.
Best course (both North and South) in Tucson
Great, Great, Great. I wish they would let guests play more often.
