The fairways were like hitting off of concrete. No green grass. Greens were hard and scaly. I’m from up north and have played this course a few times and have not seen it in this shape ever.
Coming Around
Considering new owners, the course has indications that it may return to its former condition some ten years ago. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Turn on the sprinklers
Greens are dead and brown fairways and tee boxes not much better. The greens are so hard the ball bounces 6’ in the air on approach shots and they must be running at a 25 on the stimp meter. The fair ways are so hard that my elbows hurt after the round.
I know they have new owners- they fixed the bridges and are working on the restaurant and on course bathrooms. Fix the sprinklers.
Won’t be back for a long time. For $13 more get a tee time at LPGA (hot deal)
There is no grass
They don't water the place some greens actually had dry cracks in them
Pelican Bay on the comeback
The course has been taken over by new owners. The facility shows updates and has a plan for improvements in all areas. The pool, the restaurant , bar area, and the pro shop, as well as the course all show signs of new improvements.
I’m a resident of Pelican Bay and am happy to see these improvements. The current personnel are happy and positive, a 360 degree change from the old management staff. Keep up the great job !
Do Not Play
This course should not be open. They are not watering any part of the course. The greens are burnt up, concrete-like surface. I can only guess that they let the greens go in preparation for complete make over or re-planting. This is maybe the worst GOAT FARM I've ever tried to play!
Great course needs some updates
I really like the layout of this course. I understand there is new ownership and they are already starting to make improvements.
Terrible Conditions
The Course is in terrible condition. All the greens are brown, The sand traps are a mix of dirt and sand(also Brown) Fairways are dry, every lie is a tight hard lie. I would not recommend to anyone. The staff were very cheerful and helpful. They are aware of the bad conditions.
Pelican Bay
Staff was outstanding and the course design was good. However there was not a blade of green grass to be found anywhere. Every green completely burnt out. Won't be playable for months to come if they get going in the right direction immediately. If not it might not be until next year.
Pelican
Greens are brown but roll fast and true. A couple greens are in pretty bad shape (#1). Fairways are hard and rough mowed close so you get a lot of runout (right into the water).
Course in horrible conditions
They charged $55 for 18 holes. Honestly it’s worth $1 /hole. Greens and fairways were basically dead. Don’t pay more that $20 for this crappy course
Greens need TLC
Course is very nice but the greens are going down hill due to lack of water. Very fast with nothing to stop your ball from rolling off, pace of play is different every time I go, some of the people need some education to the etiquette of golf, after having to wait 6 holes behind a foursome, who would go looking for balls until they saw we were waiting again and then they would go hit their ball, we skipped a hole because they wouldn’t let us through (2 some) and it was clear with nobody in front of them for a full 2 holes. Need a ranger once in a while and possibly post some rules for the rude ones.
Golf
One of the badest condition courses I ever played wouldn’t play it for free you should blow the course up and start over
