Good golf
Enjoyed a nice round of golf at LBI. Had played this course several times when it was Sea Oaks. Improvements to lockers and club house. Course was in great shape despite rain the night before and a lot off fun. Definitely need to put some thought into some of those shots. Will certainly be back.
Like LBI National
Greens not quite fully recovered from aeration but still fun
LBI National
Course was in good condition and pretty dry. The course throughout has been aerated. The greens need a little more sand to fill in holes and will take a couple weeks to heal. The course is challenging and has some really good holes. No problem with pace of play this day and they have a very good staff. Well worth if you can get a good rate.
Better maintenance
This place for whatever reason doesn't belive in sanding the green or tee boxes if your gonna airrate. Tee boxes don't mind as much but made it horrible to put on greens with million small holes. I usually enjoy this course but it was lacking in areas.
Best Yet
After some bad-to-awful experiences on other SJ courses LBI was AWESOME!! Every aspect was ‘spot on’ including the bag drop guy.. Give him a raise. Definitely recommended!
Great course , Bad by Golf Now
I always enjoy this course , however if you book through golf now and someone cancels on you last min you still will have to pay that golfers fee which is Inconvenient as there are outstanding circumstances by which this happens. I will also say I’ve never had that happen at any other course. Other than that it was a great day conditions were great.
I would suggest however the rangers move single walkers to play through or play early , we had an interaction with a guy who was rude yelling at other golfers even complaining when trying to help a beginner (5pm mind you, if your that good go on the morning) learn more and be more confident in golf. We all pay the same fees if you wanna play alone, play through or shut up.
LBI Nat in March.
Course is in good shape for this time of year. Greens rolled nicely and fairways in good shape. Two areas they need to improve are some of their tee boxes. Very large so they should be able to cure sections of each tee box each year. Second is to develop a decent rough especially around the greens. Too inconsistent.
LBI National in February
We got a very good rate thru Tee Off and played LBI National on February 3rd. Rather cold, but the wind laid down and the sun was out for us.
Typical winter golf, but given the wet fairways, frozen tee boxes and some of the greens it was fine-we had a great time.
Play was at a good pace and we saw the ranger numerous times during the round.
Unfortunately, the bar was closed on Monday, so no drinks after the round, but there was a very friendly cart girl, who we saw frequently during the round.
I have played here many times and since the ownership change the overall course conditions and the staff are much improved.
Open all year so good for winter golf, then should be really good during the Spring and Summer.
