Amazing course!
Fairways were fantastic! The sand in the bunkers was perfect and the greens are so fast after the last weeks weather!
Amazing course but grumpy seniors
I loved the course, was in great condition considering the weather we’ve had. But leafy but I can’t complain as they probably had a lot of other issues with the rain. Went to tee off and 2 4 balls were already there. My tee time was 10:06 and the 4 balls were 10:04 and 10:02 which is insane! I played through a few groups but one group would not let me through and when I asked they purposely ignored me. I ended up asking one 3 ball I past if I could jump in with them and they were more than happy. These seniors were far from grumpy and were great company but I was warned some of the older members up there were not so friendly to guests.
Slow
Thought I would treat myself to a round whilst staying at the hotel for the weekend. The course was in excellent condition given the time of year. The greens were immaculate and despite being wet were rapid. The pace of play though… The starter said it would be slow but I was waiting a few minutes every single shot for a 2 ball in front. It basically ruined the whole experience for me. The hotel was vastly overpriced for food and drinks. I wouldn’t go back.
Fabulous course in stunning scenery.Fabulous course in stunning scenery.
We played this in late April as a four ball . The course was well drained, in great condition coming out of winter with excellent greens. Classic Parkland with some nice water features and some quite tricky holes including the spectacular 18th.
The layout of the facilities is quite unusual as the first tee is quite a long walk from the clubhouse, Pro Shop and the 18th. The practice range with the excellent professional, Renton is another few hundred yards walk again, past the first tee.
We played on a Saturday, starting at 2 pm and it was still very busy. The pace of play was quite good but would inevitably bunch up on occasion. One thing we did find is that people would becoming impatient. On multiple occasions the four ball behind us drove into the middle of our group, as we waited on the fairway, for the green ahead to clear.
Overall, a fabulous course and we wouldn’t hesitate to return.
Wonderful course, one of my favourites
I thoroughly enjoyed this course, it has it's challenges without being too much for your average golfer - really liked the layout of the course, but I would recommend a buggy as some holes are a bit of distance away from one another and a few uphill walks. Also disappointed at the buggy price, I don't see how it can cost so much when the round itself is enough! I feel £20 is more than enough for a buggy. £40 is way too much even to split between you.
That being said, the course was fantastic. In great condition even with it being so hot and dry the past couple weeks. Each hole had something different to think about how you should play it. I highly recommend this course to any golfer. I will be returning!
Overall very pleased
Course was in good condition considering the weather that we have been having. The lady in the pro shop was extremely helpful, polite and accommodating. The staff in the 19th were as expected with a hotel environment struggled to understand what you were trying to ask for, but got there in the end. The only bug bare that I would say was the greens resembled the moon with the amount of pitch marks that hadn’t been repaired. Was held up by 2 four balls that were in front so used the time to repair what we could on the way around.
Excellent course and environment
Had a great day here, lovely people and beautiful course
Good for time of year, shame I was behing a seniors 5ball...
Some great holes, especially the back 9. Played short as mid Feb, mats on most holes. Greens very very good.
Driving range is a decent walk from the shop and ball dispenser needs card from the shop which was annoying as not mentioned in the shop.
Good condition however!!
Course was in good condition considering the weather lately, however for the price we were not told that there were 6 or 7 temporary greens which was disappointing at the price of £35 a round. The signature holes which was one of the reasons we played here were all temps.
Gone down hill
Lovely course years back gone massively down hill since. Societies slowing play down. Slow greens. Unclear fairways. No Marshall’s. Tee boxes wrecked. Massive shame as this used to be a beautiful course.
Playing a bit of history.
Lovely layout and in decent condition for November.
Greens
Course played well.
Except the greens, a lot of pitch marks. I understand that it’s a players responsibility.
Possible the course is being used by to many that don’t have suffix ent golf etiquette. A few chips shots onto green, hit PM’s went in another direction.
