Tucked away in the Ramapo Mountains on a perch overlooking the Hudson, Patriot Hills Golf Club in Stony Point feels far but it’s conveniently only an hour’s drive from the city. The golf course tumbles across dramatically rolling hills, providing views that span the Hudson Valley. Don’t let the 6,485 yards on the scorecard fool you, the daunting elevation changes make the course feel much longer. Walkers should be forewarned that this mountainous golf course is nearly impossible on foot. You can expect a few approaches to uphill greens but more often you’ll be faced with intimidating shots from elevated tees, which loom more than 200 feet above the severely contoured fairways below. The Patriot Hills layout is a formidable test but players of any skill level can appreciate the meticulous care that went into crafting each hole.

Great shape
Greens were true a little fast though. Overall a great day of golf

The course was in phenomenal shape given that the season just got underway a few weeks ago. Kudos to the maintenance staff!
The greens were rolling true and very fast! The sand in the sand in the bunkers was smooth, neither coarse nor grainy/littered with pebbles.
My playing partners and I were pleasantly surprised at what great shape the course was in, we will definitely be playing there again soon once it warms up even more!
It was cold!
Froze our butts off because of high winds. The course and greens are in phenomenal shape!
Up and down
A very challenging course with incredible up-and-down elevation changes. Unfortunately, when I called and made a tee time , they did not tell me it was cart path only. It’s a very difficult course to play cart path only. It also seem that it was not necessary on 90% of the holes which seemed dry. They could’ve designated a couple holes as cart path only.

Great weather day
The weather was great and the course is in such good shape for this early in the season. Congrats to the greens keeper. His team is doing a great job. Love this course very challenging but I love it.
Great value
I’ve played a number of public courses and nothing compares to this one in terms of layout, staff, value, and difficulty. The course is kept as if it were a private club and the staff were friendly and wonderful. Great views on every hole, and the layout really makes you think about your shot. Highly recommend

Patriot Hills is a true 5 star with very fast greens. Disappointed the bunkers weren’t taken care of as well as tons of ball marks but still a great place to play.

This course is fantastic. Elevation changes, skyline views and fast greens. A challenge for all levels.
